Yeah I am wondering the same thing . But people are saying its underrated and its very good so I am watching both…
I can understand, I am very moody with my choices.
Pirates 2 was poor, funny at times, but not enough to make it a decent watch imo. But, I havent seen Pirates 1 tho, not sure if it would have made a difference.
I think I understand what you mean. IMO. The flow of the movie was very odd/unusual, even for western films. Usually films are like roller coaster of emotions, where it tries to control the suspense, happiness, sadness etc. Parasite, was a very small(subtle) roller coaster, that only kept going up slowly, with a small drop at the end, where the rich antagonists didn't get their punishment.
But, that's what I liked about the film, it subtle comments about class warfare, how even in the end only the poor lost out. How, the family needed someone to pull one of them out of the basement to reach the 'lofty' heights of the rich family & house. How after that they helped the next member of the family out. & much more.
The hollywood way is certainly not the only/best way. But, I cant agree with your last pt. about plot detachment.
I would say no. Its a subtle build up of a love triangle, but not cliche. I would say its not unrequited for the main characters, because of the couple T at the end. even if its coincidence its like a sign. imo.
Oh my goodness, you have almost all the dramas in mind, Literally!!!I recently just did a my girl and BOF ost…
I put it off too at first, it was one of the 1st dramas i tried to watch but I couldn't understand the references and turned off in ep1. I came back to it after watching about 10 other dramas. 88 was better than 94, still need to finish 97.
88 is easily on the best all round dramas, story, production, OST etc imo. It felt like they improved on the previous versions. Anyways, hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think if you watch it.
Surely, you cant make this list without including Reply1988. Not only does it have great songs that you don't normally hear from (80's), they are tied into the story where the characters are referencing them. Also, one of the very few dramas that has multiple songs (10+) that are memorable long after the series is over. Where as normally we only remember 1 or 2 title songs.
I saw the trailer and was not impressed with all the drinking and drunk 3 women attics. If this was about women…
Drinking is a central part of the drama, but that is only part of it. Drinking is used as framing to present the drama in light/fun manner. Similar to how swoon worthy romance scenes/encounters are used in a romcom, but usually that's not the full story. e.g.Crash Landing/Vincenzo.
The drama is about 3 women and covers their struggles and friendship, with drinking part present but in the background. What stands out for me is the story, presentation, acting and their friendship. Its a refreshingly different way of showing the women's pov and thoroughly entertaining.
One of the better dramas out there and I would recommend you watch it. 12eps & 30 mins per episode (except ep1 - 45mins). But, they do drink a comically large amount and also eat a lot. Let me know if this how much people drink & eat in Korea?
Cut out all the bits from the bad guys, focus more on the main cast interaction to get the laughs and develop the main characters.
Nobody interested in the bad guy firing canons and taking over a country, especially not some pirates and bandits.
I think, in the end LKS pulled it over the finishing line, and his fans (me included) looked over the bad bits.
Lets see the reaction from Running Man and the general public in Korea. But, this avg 8/10* rating by 1158 users is laughable.
*rating at the time of writing, obv.

Rather why? serious question, just wanted to hear your opinion
1 guy is from the sea (lobster) & the other guy is from grassland (beef). Tae Ri is deciding which one she should choose 'to eat'.
'To eat someone' is the literal translation, but is also used as sexual act in Korean. They don't say it, but this is conveyed with the imagery.
Reminds me of the saying 'sex sells'
But, its nice to see some references that not the usual.
Nice article, thanks.
