hilarious if you're used to japanese humor and the action is pretty solid. Great choreographies. The costumes are beautiful. In terms of characterization alone it couldn't get any better. Also, kagura-chan kawaii.
the only thing I enjoyed about this movie was the photography in the bloody bathtub scene, it just looks so cool visually... but then they ruined it with that low budget parallel world
also the bridge scene is very touching and on point
the rest is garbage at least the cast didn't make me cringe, everyone did their job except for the writers
cute! I loved the first time Mari did the Time-stop and went for a walk with Ban, so romantic >< lol
the fact is that they could've planned the whole operation around her powers, she could even steal the vaccine anytime she wanted, but let's overlook that lol
it shouldn't even be possible to rate this movie below 7/10. Solid direction, solid acting, solid production, original plot, solid execution. It's like the precursor of Scott Pilgrim vs The World
I think that the attempts at making horror scenes were pretty lame and boring, and it would've been better off diving into the dark fantasy thing without looking back
I think that the Ring references would've felt more elegant if they haven't stole so much from the plot.
In my opinion, the first actress would hold the movie together much better than the protagonist, unfortunately they dumped her after 15 minutes T_T
The kodomo tsukai song is quite cool, but they didn't know how to handle it
The human puppet guy is one of the few things about the movie that were on point
if you like J-horror, why not (specially if you haven't watched many horror movies) if you're looking for something scary, better check the next movie on your list
Rationally, I would give it a 9, but I'll give it a 8.5 because it hurt my feelings, and I didn't like it!! T_T but if you think about it, it's an amazing accomplishment to hurt the viewer's feelings so it's probably a 9.5 or 10... fuck it, I'll give it a 9.. but I hate you, Mr. Director. Fuck you
The movie is terrible, but the review about Ayaka fighting in school uniform is hilarious.. Looks like someone's first experience with japanese entertainment. Do you really think THAT was sexist? She was wearing a different outfit in every fight scene and it was purely for aesthetic reasons, it's not even a mini-skirt, and she's wearing shorts underneath... it's just a regular skirt, Jesus Christ, IT'S JAPAN. School girl fighting. Looks cool. Shut the fuck up.
And that was one of the few good things about this trash movie, I'm sorry Rina Takeda was wasting her talent on that shit again. 1/10.
I love the character's names lol also some of the shots are so beautiful, it's a very Romantic film in the beginning. The horror stuff is just straight up nuts.. or should I say... bananas.
I really enjoyed it, it was very fun to watch and very strange, I'm always up to some experimentation, just didn't like some of the OST choices, felt a little too random at times (perhaps that was the intention, but I personally didn't buy it).
After watching the director's interview I enjoyed it even more, I knew that the atomic bomb stuff wasn't there for no reason, but I couldn't figure it out why it was there until I saw some videos about the topic. Very good!
I think calling it a horror movie it's a bit of a stretch, it sure have gore scenes, but they only make you uncomfortable (or laugh most of the time). And YEAAHHH Damn, the "psychic teacher" annoyed the hell out of me... Specially after the comedic attempt in the beginning, geez...
I used to hate sad endings for snowflake reasons, but now I just don't give a damn, and will rate it 10/10 if it can make an impact on me, whatever it is
Also, kagura-chan kawaii.

And I did. Awesome.

seriously though, the first half is decent (if you're not too picky) but I hate everything else
