Mildly disappointed

Hotel Del Luna was somehow gorgeous—the visuals, the outfits, the set design, IU looking like a goddess in every scene. A total feast for the eyes, yes! But… that’s about it. The (love) story? Mildly disappointing.

The characters had some depth, sure, but the character ark was all over the place. The hotel staff went from literally wanting to ruin Koo Chan-sung’s life to treating him like family with zero build-up. The love story? Weak. No real depth, no emotional pull—just... vibes?? Man-wol, who was supposedly this cold, ruthless soul, was neither scary, nor reckless in my opinion. Our male protagonist, Chang-sung, felt flat, two-dimensional. Just a good guy, you know a reeeaaaally gooooodddd guy - no faults whatsoever. *snore*

Honestly, I gave this a 6/10 purely because of the visuals. If not for my pure joy of watching gorgeous IU and a couple early episodes with some ghosts grudges being resolved, it would’ve been even lower. I guess its an unpopular opinion, looking at the ratings, but it just wasn't "my cup of tea". The show failed to make me care for any of the love stories. The ending would've made me sad or mad, but I just couldn't give an eff.

Recommended if you like fantasy dramas with beautiful visuals and get easily sucked into a romance even if it's shallow and lacking any show of emotional (or physical, for that matter) intimacy.
