I am at ep 19. I am really curious if the ML ever even confesses his feelings. Currently it looks like a pretty impossible task. Leads barely get any screentime together and I have read that the drama goes downhill after ep20 then why am I even watching this show?? Ep16 and I don't know how to keep watching. The chemistry is bland, FL's character is so numb she is actually dead inside. They dragged on the replies to confession too long, unnecessary problems keep popping up everywhere. I can't believe that the Main couple's persuers are moving faster towards romance than the main couple. I especially am uninterested in FL's bestie's love life since it's just a bunch of crap.
I didn't take the comments here seriously bcz I thought it was fine in the beginning but I have officially given up on it on ep16. It began going downhill when FL started getting jealous of her sister or whatever. Her character was awful too. I hated both love confessions. FL's confession was so entitled and rude and just stupid. Like she is literally lying to him and betraying him but she is mad that he doesn't like her back?? And ML's confession was stupid too. Everyone hates love triangles and they bothered putting a love rectangle in the drama. Plus all other characters have no life of their own. 2nd ML's rejection was the worst I have seen so far. And I have read spoilers on what's to come even after all this. No thanks I don't have the patience of continuing it any further.
I tried reading comments and reviews on this drama before watching and saw many people call it "weird". That's a unique word to describe a drama so I was curious and now after watching about 13 or 14 eps I understand what they meant by weird 😆 and I agree. The drama is strange. It's not bad but I don't know what the main focus is supposed to be.
Lmao it was terrible. Normally I would have dropped this drama after a few episodes but bcz I was bored out of my mind and had nothing to do so I actually watched it all out of pettiness. I wanted to see how the writers would turn this shit into a relationship and that never came 🤣🤣 they were pettier than me here. The couple kissed so many times and it always meant nothing 🤣 both leads were annoying as hell and the parents were the worst I have ever seen even in a drama. Only the nerd couple and Xiao Fei had some rights.
I am not even 10min in on the first episode and the editing is so bad that it's almost unbearable 😹 what's with the choppy scenes thrown together. Every scene seems so random. If the editing stays like this throughout the drama then how did you guys even watch it??

Yeah the liveliness of town people in htccc does help. I actually like that drama, for the 10 episodes or so it was great and I loved all characters including the leads. It was after it crossed the ep10 mark when the lead couple started dating when it became cringy and typical and chief Hong's story reveal was quite underwhelming and somewhat had an empty feel to it. There are just so many Korean drama that start out good but fail to maintain the quality till the end and maybe that's why I was a bit disappointed. Contrary to that I didn't feel bored or frustrated watching Chocolate at all. But yeah people have different tastes and preferences.
Omg I can't believe the reviews I read above. I watched Hometown cha-cha-cha and I couldn't help but think about this drama while watching that. Cause this drama was everything that Hometown cha-cha-cha failed to be. It was amazing. I wasn't too familiar with Ha Ji Won before but I fell in love with her watching this drama. It was sad yet healing. People who can hold slice of life/melodrama genres should really give it a go.
And I really want to watch a drama where an MC lives a laid-back life like chief Hong but not because of any trauma/trigger but just because they prefer it that way.
The first 10 episodes are great it just gets a little irritating when they start dating cause they're just the kind of couple that gets on my nerves. Still it wasn't bad. I got to see Kim Seon Ho smile a lot in this one so that's a plus. It was great. I am hyped for his next project whatever it maybe.
Okay I have completed it. At first I wasn't going to watch it because of all the negative reviews and then I was dead bored with nothing to watch that I decided to watch a few episodes. But it turned out better than I expected it to be. The chemistry b/w leads is so sweet. There were some super sweet scenes that I really loved. I love how their story developed. That being said everything and everyone else except the main couple was messy and annoying and just not worth wasting my time so I skipped a lot. At least the leads were worth going through all the episodes.
