The Last Two Episodes Kind of Ruined the Rest...
I was so hyped for this show, and on the whole I really loved it. The first eight episodes were great—the story was fun, charming, and KristSingto's chemistry was just as good as nine years previous. I had a blast watching it, and then the show kind of....wrapped up two episodes early. All of the main plot points were tied in a nice little bow—our couple is happily together, the villain of the show has been deposed, all is well. And yet, there were still two episodes left.
And everything went off the rails. Suddenly we almost get a genre shift from exes-to-lovers romcom to a crime drama? It made no sense and was straight out of left field, and it being included in the series kind of ruined the rest of it for me. Now, when I look back on this show all I'm going to think about is how bizarre the last episodes were.
It's a shame, because otherwise this show had so much going for it! The plot was good, it was funny, I loved the side characters (Jaime, my beloved, we need to get you more roles!!). If they had just cut the show after eight episodes, this would be a 9/10 and on my favorites list. But, alas, here we are.
