To anyone who is wondering why Koreans are very sensitive about anything related to the democratization movements in 1980 and 1987, plz take time to watch 'Taxi driver' and '1987'. Both movies are incredible movies, which made me cry, and described in detail what the democratization movement in Korea really means to Koreans. wach both movies if you are interested. Both movies, although dealing with serious subjects, are actually very entertaining. Koreans are actually very good at making serious topics or subjects a fun, entertaining movie without risking the delivery of message or substance. FYI, the main actor of 'Taxi driver' is the father of the poor family in 'Parasite'.
To add on, there are international fans who are still disrespectful towards Korean netizens and korean history calling "just a fiction" when it's not their history! And no, it's not just a fiction, it's about real korean history! BUT I can't wait for this drama to air
well i think what happened with joseon exorcist and mr.queen, made me kinda upset because they were pure fantasy. but as an indian whose country has been affected by such kind of events, i can totally understand the feeling of koreans. because these topics remain sensitive even after 100 years. i love the actors/actresses here but people need to understand that the concern its regarding their country representation which the whole world is going to watch :(
