I think your vision is already biased and pessimistic, condemning writers as if they were insensitive, prejudiced…
Well, if that's not what you meant, why did you say it like that? Maybe the writers didn't mean it either when they said that Day's blindness was the worst chapter of his life and that he's finally normal now, but when we don't mean something, we shouldn't say it then. Also by "you" i mean society, everyone who thinks this way.

" Blind people living their lives fully, which I think is something difficult to achieve, the person will always have hope for an even fuller life." So you believe that blind people can never be fully happy unless they're healed. And this is exactly the issue. You should educate yourself on disabled people and on their issues because beliefs like yours is what makes their life difficult, not their disability itself.

Personally, I don't complain just to complain. (But also even that is anyone's right, MDL is a forum, it says nowhere that only positive comments are allowed). But certain things have to be said to hopefully change in the future. Shows being ableist for example, is something that must be said, 'cause if we accept it and never comment on it, it will never change. You shouldn't pathetically watch tv shows without gaining anything from them, they aren't made for you to pathetically watch them either, so if they show the wrong messages, you should comment on them and explain why it's wrong so that maybe it changes some day. It's the same thing that happened with LGBTQ people. LGBTQ people were always portrayed either as dumb and funny and silly or as the tragic characters who died (or both), people commented on that for years until (at least in some %) it changed. Like, where's the issue with that? If noone commented the negative things we wouldn't be watching bls now, we'd be watching gay characters only as funny side characters that would eventually die.

You guys keep using the argument that if Day was a real person he'd choose the same and he should AND LIKE WHO TF SAID HE SHOULDN'T? Literally noone blames DAY (for that at least), we blame THE WRITERS. You can love the show as much as you want, but the fact that you cannot recognize that it is ableist BECAUSE IT IS is wrong and you won't change that by using the same argument over and over. Do you know the definition of ableism? "Ableism characterizes people as they are defined by their disabilities and it also classifies disabled people as people who are inferior to non-disabled people." The writers LITERALLY SAID that Day being blind was "the worst chapter of his story" that his blindness was a dilemma and that he can finally go back to being normal. All of this is literally the definition of ableism. The writers classified Blind Day as inferior to Non!Blind Day. You cannot change that, it is what it is, you don't get to decide that it isn't. You can still love the show but you cannot change that. Also ignore what I say, I've seen many disabled people say it was ableist and it was offensive, but you guys are like BUT THERE'S ALSO DISABLED PEOPLE WHO SAID IT WASN'T, well, good for them, but it remains ableist, since so many other people said it is...and since it simply fits the description of ableism. Things like racism, ableism, homophobia etc aren't defined by what someone believes, they are what they are, they have a definition and when an incident fits that definition then it is racist/ableist/homophobic etc. Y'all praising writers WRITERS not characters, you're putting all that energy into defending THEM for doing something wrong, you're not defending the characters, no one blames the character for choosing to see again AND MUCH LESS A REAL LIFE PERSON THAT COULD'VE HAD THAT CHANCE FOR GOD'S SAKE....if you guys really can't see that, then I have nothing more to say.

I rated the show 1 BECAUSE IT DISAPPOINTED ME GENERALLY. Also none of your business. I can do what I want, it's not "because someone can see again" it's because this I've had conversations about this issue with disabled people for years now and because I hate it and because I've seen it in so many tv shows that it's tiring, boring and just wrong. But outside of that, the show in itself disappointed me because I expected better writing for the characters, better resolution for the issues they had and just better things after episode 7, because up until then I was loving the show. So I have all the reasons to rate this with 1 and even If I didn't have to, it'd be my fucking right. You guys really get so pressed because someone doesn't like your precious bl, get a life.

I don't know why I keep trying to reason with a person that talks like this, like I'm stating an opinion and you're just acting like a child telling me to shut up and wtf and all this..like is it so hard to understand someone might not love the show you love? By the way I LOVED the show when it started, not that I should give you any explanation but just saying I have every right to give a 1 to any show I want because it disappointed me and that's how I rate a show when it disappoints me, no one gives ratings to change the ending so Idk what the f* you talking about, I GIVE THAT RATING BECAUSE I WANT TO. End of story. And yes it's problematic to have this ending, so many people were afraid they'd pull this off since the show was announced and they did exactly what they shouldn't have done. If you have never talked about tv and representation to anyone then that's not my issue.

thats the word for it, people wanted him to be blind for what reason? I don't know, like if he were to be remain…
the way you say "normal" shows that you don't understand that disabled people are perfectly normal too, and that's the issue, he didn't have to be cured to be normal, blind people are normal

Yes, I get it that people CAN be happy and contented with life despite having disablities. As mentioned in my…
The problem is that what's the point of him getting acceptance and everything if at the end he had to be cured TO BE HAPPY. The issue is that they always do this, it's like "oh yeah he managed to be quite fine for a while while being blind BUT THE REAL AND ONLY HAPPY ENDING is him being cured". If this had happened in the middle of the show, it would've been maybe a different story, but the ENTIRE show was build on the fact that he had to accept his disability that even though it's sad and even though he will not see anymore, it's alright, he'll be happy anyway and then they completely erased that. No one is saying that we wouldn't wanna be cured, do you think all people out there who are disabled don't want to be cured? BUT THEY CAN'T. And they want FOR ONCE to see a story where there's no cure, where the character is happy anyway, where it's fine if you don't get cured, so they don't spend their lives, thinking that only when and if they get cured they'll be truly happy.

CAN SOME PEOPLE HERE STOP ROMANTICIZING BLINDNESS FFS. Some of you wanted a blind man to stay blind... just because.…
What are you even saying? who's romanticizing anything??????? people are pissed because it's highly problematic, it's been said for years now that CURING DISABLED CHARACTERS IS BAD, ABLEIST, SENDS THE WRONG MESSAGE. Actual disabled people say this, yell this for years and yet noone listens. What's so hard to understand? Also if a family member of mine was blind, they 99,9% wouldn't be able to get an eye donation, and I'd at least like to see them happy when they can finally get that damn representation and see the message that they can be happy anyway.

Personally think the closure is great, it delivered the point that people with disablity can find happiness and…
Because it's always the same. Because people with disabilities can and most of the time have good lives WITHOUT being cured. And because this, just like every other show with the same ending passes a message that says "you will only be happy if you're cured". The show initially seemed to have a very different message, aka that even though Day lost his vision, he'll be happy, he'll learn to accept his disability and with love, acceptance, and everything else good in his life, he'll be happy. But no, as always they had to do the same shit on the last episode and ruined what many people loved about this show and I'm sure they also took away a representation from people with disabilities too...

Explaining below in another comment with spoiler, in case people don't wanna know, why I put Doom At Your Service,…
In Doom At Your Service, the FL Dong Kyung, watches Hotel Del Luna and Tale of the Nine-Tailed, to "study" how a relationship with a supernatural being works lol

Also, I'm not sure they count (if they don't count, you can delete them from the list):

1) on Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, there's a scene in episode 2 with Lee Jong Suk, he plays an athlete (like he did in W: Two Worlds), they also play the theme of W:Two Worlds on the background and, Bok Joo's uncle tells him that "he looks like a comic book character", which was intentional because LJS on W was indeed a comic book character!
2) in True Beauty, episode 4, two actual characters from Extraordinary You guest (Dan Oh and Baek Kyung), there's the Extraordinary You theme playing and they're literally in character.

My concern is that Mohk will donate his eyes to Day. I'm not sure that is legal, but it's a series and money talks,…
It's still not something I can see P'aof doing. Yes, there's many melodramatic dramas, but P'aof's are not like them. Not to this extend. It has to do with the creator. I'm not saying there are not dramas like this, even though in Cdramas too, it depends on what you watch, I personally don't watch such dramas and I can find plenty that aren't melodramatic. Also P'aof seems like someone who respects people with disabilities, in his previous work (Moonlight Chicken) there was also a person with a disability and he didn't need to cure him much less have such a melodramatic twist to give them a happy ending. So I'm pretty sure P'aof knows that curing a disabled person isn't the way to go (it's actually something a lot of disabled people have been asking for years, but especially in Asia you won't find a lot of such rep), so I don't even see them curing Day. I think eventually the message is that even if he loses his sight he can still be happy. Curing him but having Mhok be blind or even worse die, is not just melodramatic but a terrible message, like Day wouldn't be happy then, he'd be miserable. He can have his sight back but he'll lose the one he loves AND feel guilty on top? P'aof is someone that takes his work seriously and wants to send out positive and respectful messages so why would he do that?

Unpopular opinion I guess, but since I've watched both versions, I have to say SK really did the better job, at least in the adult years. Basically I feel like SK took some things that imo were not done in the best way in China and fixed them. And I love that, because I love the story but some things in Chinese version really annoyed me in the adult years. I love both versions and of course you have to love the story to care about the changes, this isn't a story for everyone, imo it's much deeper than people make it seem, but well, not for everyone as I said. But when you truly pay attention, you can definitely see that SK fixed some things that really didn't make sense in the og.

Lusi’s cute but after hidden love, I’m starting to feel like she’s like a one trick pony that’s really…
Her characters and her acting in WRTW and LLTG are very different than the rest tho. Especially WRTW but I think in LLTG she's different too, I agree she's being typecasted a lot even though from what I read, her character will change here too, but imo she's proven she can do different things.
