"Reading comments ranting about the show after every episode. Y’all are genuinely so funny." -- I bet that wasnt on Twitter; you'd probably get flamed.
"How did being childhood friends turn into lovers? No idea. Who cares, let’s have another sex scene." -- awesome summary here ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I dropped it after ep 4-ish (?) after realising that behind squeal worthy moments there was no plot. And my participation in the rest of weeks was watching the hashtags go trending every Saturday for reasons I couldn't fathom. The ost was decent though.
someone that gave tharntype a 9 talking abt extreme anger. lol
"....having an obsession with an early-childhood friend to the point of never paying attention to anyone else and pursuing that friend in adulthood in (more often than not) variety of creepy ways."
Why does a currently airing series come to mind immediately? BUT, I'm still enjoying that series. I didn't enjoy the childhood scenes - felt a little creepy for my taking - but there are other well executed plot devices and a healthy (barring that childhood obsession thing) relationship which kept me going.
Back to FUTS, the difficulty in stories which start off with one of the lead already liking the other lead, is the timing of when the backstory gets revealed to the viewers. I nearly dropped Lovely Writer because Nubsib's affections for Gene went on for so long unexplained that it felt creepy. I hope in episode 4, we get a glimpse, even if just a tiny hint, of how Mork grew to like Pi.
same ... yes i ship mix and earth together :))) but in this series really i want pi end up with mueng nan and…
I take this as Tian's college life before he got diagnosed with the heart disease.
And yes I do wish that Nan and Pi get together!!!! (but I like Mork and Pi too!!!!) This is giving me a headache. I swear if it turns out that Nan always liked Pi but by the time he decides to take the initiative, Pi has fallen for Mork, my heart will break!!!
I keep telling myself that I would drop this series cause I can't bear seeing pi embarrassing himself ( WTF wears…
IKR!!!!!! The sunglasses killed me. I turned off the sound and diverted my eyes to Nan or the background in the bar or the bar-goers. Anything but Pi's face. But I was laughing inwardly, like from second hand embarrassment. I get the humour totally, and I was enjoying the cringe. LOL do I even make sense?
Idk if it's just me but I don't get good vibes from Mix's character, I feel like he's 2 faced. Either that or…
LOL I must be watching it wrong. I had the idea that Nan like Mork - from the wiping of sweat for him, the smitten look when he looked at Mork in the canteen, and the sudden change of mind about the date. But yes, this perspective (Nan is helping his bestie Mork) makes sense too!
I'm enjoying the first 3 episodes! It's my type of humour and I keep laughing (esp in ep 1 and 3). The plot is nothing new, for now, but that makes this a very light watch, which I appreciate, having come out of heavier ones with ATOTS and WOH just a while back.
I like the characters, with all their flaws. 1) Pi with his low self-esteem and socially-awkward behaviour. In a way, isn't he like any other ordinary person we know? Like....us? Except that he is very open about his crush. Brave soul!
2) Mork with his....Ok I can't think of any flaw for now. In a tradition romance drama, he would be the pining friend-zoned second lead, always there for the lead but forever helping the lead get together with someone else. I'm guessing that Nam like Mork though: Helping to wipe his sweat, changing his mind about the bar date probably because Mork asked.
3) Loudmouth Duean. In Ep 1 I'd thought he was going to comfort Pi about his crush, but then he surprised us by listing down the sad truth about Pi being such a hopeless case in pursuing the perfection that is Nam (yes he is perfect...for now, I suspect). Horrible brother alert!! But then in Ep 2, when Duean's first reaction to a downcast Pi was that he'll go fight whoever bullied Duean, I changed my view about him. And then the water bottle scene showed us his tenderness, when he bothers. For me, I enjoyed his side story (thought Meen feels flat as a character) and how it's executed, breaking the fourth wall.
I hope the rest of the series continues to spring surprises in its execution!
Is this just a ratings blip across all of dramalist? All the shows I'm watching suddenly went up but this one…
I usually start a series if 1) The series stars someone I like from another series (like MOD) ; or 2) I chance upon the trailer and the plot/execution captures my attention (like Lovely Writer and ATOTS); or 3) Everyone in my TL is raving about it (like ITSAY). But when I run out of things to watch, that's when I will search for highly rated series. Otherwise, I wouldn't really bother about ratings. To be honest, if a series is not spectacular in the rating, but the comments give some reason to watch beyond the not-so-good elements, I'll still watch it. I think it's the comments that counts, more than the numbers.
