I just completed this and I enjoyed it for the most part. One thing that bothers me is when they said JYH took…
I think an important thing to consider here is that this is not a normal relationship. Whereas, TXN has just started to develop feelings for him, JYH has had these feelings for ten years so of course he's had time to plan these 101 steps. He is also the one who is the most desperate for this relationship so of course he wants to be the one to make long strides, and in comparison, TXN's small steps can seem almost nonexistent. I think in a more balanced relationship, TXN's steps are more than enough in her own way. Though JYH is good at romantic gestures, he can also fall short in the small things like communication in the relationship and setting boundaries between him and TYH which led TXN to feel insecure. And though TXN didn't do much in a romantic aspect, she would always try her best to support him when it came to life and work. Let's not forget that TXN did so much to take care of JYH's mother while she was still hospitalized and fought hard for his chance to become the president. At the end of the day, I think they both wanted to fight for this relationship in their own ways but clearly neither are perfect. They both had their own issues that unfortunately never got addressed in this fantasy-like drama.
I have seen this drama at least 4 times and every time I watch it, I always have same problem, which is Jiang…
I think that is the point of her character thou because she is supposed to be a foil to Luo Zhi. She is supposed to show the other side of a long unrequited love which can be degrading and humiliating (the part that Luo Zhi hates) and even though I don't necessarily agree with her choices and constant self-degradation, I still like how strong her character is that even after everything she went through, and after her self healing, she was still able to be open to the idea of love which I think is what the uncle showing up to her graduation hints at (in the original) as well as in this adaptation where she focuses on regaining her sense of self and her own type of self love. I think her character is more figurative that literal.
Acho que as duas são fortes de maneiras diferentes. Uma mulher não precisa ser inferior a outra. Leyan tem mais…
I was really excited for Changge's meditation/healing arc in the show but I feel like the writers did not do her character justice and made her character improvement quite shallow. I agree that Changge is a very different character to Leyan and has her own strengths but the way it was written and acted out didn't make her strengths very believable to me AKA her intelligence and "military strategies".
Please take everything I say with a grain of salt, just my opinions. Really wanna vent cause I'm upset with episode 1. I'm really upset with both characters. First the ML busts into the entire building causing a huge commotion and a bunch of guns to fire, endangering all the hostages and then says that hostages should just stay still, like bruh. Also the ML seems to the captain of the mission, so he should've considered the hostages' safety first before anything, just because he is great at fighting doesn't mean he should be so fricking arrogant to think he can do whatever he wants. Also how dare he go blaming the FL for not staying still. She wouldn't have felt the need to step in if she felt assured that things would be handled. Even if she did stay still, someone else would've gotten hurt, just not his soldier. As the captain, he should be more fucking level headed. Accidents like these are a part of the fucking job, he should've set a better example of character for the rest of the teammates and yet he is the one that has to be comforted, instead of comforting others. Why the fuck would he blame a victim, he should be blaming himself for being incompetent, a bunch of other hostages got hurt because of their actions. what was the point of sneaking in at the beginning if you're gonna just blow up the wall and not to mention the explosion endangered a lot of hostages. Now the FL, bruh why the heck would you approach the ML when he is obviously grieving. Just to offer him some petty ass words. She just wanted to feel better about himself, so I don't blame him for being upset, she should've been professional, but she wouldn't have felt so guilty if they didn't blame her for something that wasn't entirely her fault. And this is just a small part of my complaint from episode 1 which I didn't even finish, so don't know if he apologizes for this later. But I guess this is just the kind of drama it is, I mean so I don't really know what else I should've expected, right? Also the FL acting is a bit awkward.
