I was going to ignore this person already. LYN works hard, worked hard for AJTL and delivers. That's not a "oohhh lucky you" thing. He got acknowledged for his efforts.
Person probably like dramas with pretty faced actors even if the writing and execution is so terrible, then they'll say so-and-so is actually a good actor but just got a bad script.

If you look at Asian history, the emperors of different countries are not in power simply by show of force but also has a divine right to rule. Couple that with the concepts of "names have power" and "thou shalt not use my name in vain".

I am currently at an existential crisis hahaha I created this profile basically for Korean shows and decided only recently to just use it as my asian drama/movie viewing account 😅 Chinese dramas are more accessible lately. It's the Japanese shows that are still a pain to get (legal) access to.

I have a love-hate relationship with the "dubbing voice". Voice actors get trained to voice a certain way and some are great at adjusting to make it sound real, others not so much that it really sounds faked.

At least it's not as bad as the 2nd Prince. Actor's lips was so over exaggerated, I felt bad for the dubber hahaha

It's the dubbers they choose and how they feel like a "young cute woman" should sound like. Then you hear their real voices and get surprised hahahaha

Chinese title is not that. Many times, the English title is not a direct translation and pales in comparison.

I think the writer did it this way to show how "wtf???" the FL's thinking was at this point. Afterwards, conversations about what she plans after having a child drives it further. The audience has 0 questions that FL doesn't know a thing about love and only thought of this as an assignment that needed to be ticked off.

It's not like it's pure luck. He is selling the part. He is a believable NYZ. He gives a good performance in fleshing out this multi-layered character.

They have been trained to put the An Emperor on a pedestal and cannot speak ill of him. The Scarlet Guards are the Emperor's personal soldiers. They have followed his orders without question. Even RRY could not write his name on her assassination list and had to meditate to deal with having to deal with him as an enemy.
JL already said enough to let RRY know who she means, she could not say more. So she decides to kill herself than be forced to say his name in bad light, as they have been trained to do. Their life is nothing compared to the Emperor. This is why NZY kept RRY's promise for her and dealt with JL's body as she requested, and RRY thanked him.

Writer could be emphasizing this weakness then LTG gets a good schooling enough to acknowledge NYZ as RRY's man therefore his master-in-law. Then they use this weakness to bait the other princes to a corner. Then together they bring down the bad imperial An family. That would be a good outcome for him.

I hear you. I'm noisy here coz most my friends only watch kdrama, not cdrama. I don't have anyone to spazz with and talk about the details of this show (esp with this one being well made)
