For me, good balance of romance amidst all the mysteries and adventures they're going through. Because of the great chemistry between the leads, everything feels natural and not forced.

During the presscon, NiNi said "I really loved the novel and I believe Ye LiuXi is a character that any actress would want to create because she's so charming. The other actors and directors respected the novel and tried making it as accurate as possible" (from @/fandoestrans at twitter - translates a lot from the presscon/bts so look for the account)
It's a good fantasy-adventure romance. The romance slowly develops while adventuring but the chemistry of the leads is so palpable, it will draw you in. They form quite a motley crew with each member being unique thus having their own contribution in their journey.
We're done with the first half which is mostly getting the audience attached to the characters to root for them and learning more about the parallel world. Some felt the start was slow paced, but I felt the parts were necessary to see how each character reacts to different situations and with each other. Also, the story builds up with every episode and not much fillers.
