Oh, good point! I thought she was from a parallel world but it's possible that the sandstorm transports both in…
Her photograph is also old and they said it's been reproduced many times. But her dreams where she's a child looks like she's a warrior during older times. So yeah, maybe it jumps from parallel worlds and time. Or she's immortal coz she did come back alive after being hung to die.
Finally, my days will be filled with gorgeous Ni Ni. She's also being coquettish at times here too which I find so adorable and charming. Can't wait for tonight's episodes.
Not sure which episode you're at now, but FL eventually will. The process of undoing the effects of her upbringing…
I'm so glad you liked it and the journey they went through. Some people didn't like the ending (how quickly it seemed the Meng family still stayed together) but it is fiction at the end of the day. While watching that part, my only thought was "as long as you're happy Xu Qin" because I just really want FL and brother to find peace of mind. I hope parents, would-be parents, and everyone else would view this story as an eye opener on how much a repressive childhood can affect a child and the pain it brings them well into adulthood. There are too many irl still struggling with generational trauma, too many irl who don't acknowledge that they have inflicted pain on their children. I hope there will be less and less of this pain every year.

Yes. It is relatable. Even people who didn't go through the level of manipulation and gaslighting her mom (and her passive mom-enabler dad) did have a hard time finding the courage to break the trauma in real life. That's why it saddens me when people get mad at FL for being weak. The reaction feels too real how people deal with others with mental health issues in real life.
Just started this drama but does this FL ever not think of anything as not a burden? Family is a burden, responsibility…
Not sure which episode you're at now, but FL eventually will. The process of undoing the effects of her upbringing is slow and not a straight path. That is what she's going through. I understand it can be tiresome, but it is done more realistically so patience and empathy is needed to watch her go through this process.
I will miss the characters of FOMH (except Mama Meng and to a lesser degree Papa Meng) Having finished the novel in the middle of the drama, the adaptation had its hits and misses but overall the drama was done in a way that satisfied me. Since it's a Chinese drama aired on TV, there are things that had to be the way it was done. So all in all, good job to the cast and crew of this drama. It was a fun ride. Time for withdrawal symptoms to settle in now that I don't have my nightly 8 o'clock habit.
Slipper is dizzy and taking a much needed rest. The actress playing her mother deserves praise for being so good at her horrible character. Even lying down on the hospital bed, I couldn't find any cell in my body willing to pity her.
The signs have been there all along that Yezi was not quite kosher (admittedly, that might have been a little…
Agreed. It all made more sense in the drama than in the novel. She felt more like a plot device character in the novel, nothing much. But in the drama, they gave her a full characterization with background and motive. Although I'd have accepted less screen time for her and more of the cute SongQin parts they ended up cutting out hahaha
I almost have to admire Mama Meng, to be that unrepentant even after all that she has done is revealed,.....WOW…
You'd be surprised how many adults and old parents in real life think like that. Whatever wrong they may have done is justifiable or the fault of someone else. Ugh!
I did not know I needed to see a flustered Song Yan not knowing what to do after fighting with Xu Qin until they showed it. XQ: We're just fighting. We haven't broken up. SY: We're not fighting. XQ: ... (hangs up) SY: ??? 😂
For those who suddenly went back to hating XQ after Ep35, IMO I think XQ's anger was valid. After not discussing with her a big decision, it opened up her uneasy feeling about how SY keeps covering up the gunshot wound and what happened before. It makes sense to me.
Just coming in to say... The deviation from the novel for Eps 33-34 stressed me hahaha I keep worrying about what Momma Meng will do to Song Yan. I think I won't be able to rest until the last episode
See y'all again on the 27th Gonna stay away until I watch all the eps (No, I will not watch it on pirated links 🫡) Be back soon... enjoy the discussions ^___^
Mostly on Monday.Don't know about International platforms
based on iqiyi's leak last week, i think the international platforms already have the eps until the end, so the subs are probably done already. they'll just need to stick to the schedule. mango tv is the main platform, so they probably have the right to fast track.
