Agreed!I also have the same thought and feeling as you.Honestly at the first time I starting to watch NPE for…
Although this was only the 2nd drama I've seen XKC in, (My 1st being Female Imperial College W/ Zhao Lusi) I am SOOOO impressed with his acting ability and range! From being crazy and trying to strangle Tilan, then falling for her, and the torture he goes through as his love dies in his arms was just heart wrenching! (I have to watch that in the clips. I can't handle all at once!) Oh- and remember when he called FJM less than a rat in the gutter, than he was so happy when he accepted their friendship again? Yep. His acting skills: 💯
Just rewatched and finished the last episode. Bawling my eyes out once again. It is truely an excellent drama…
I've also been rewatching it. I've had to take a few days off though. No wonder WC said he'd had to go work out every day after shooting because it was making him feel depressed!
When did Chu Zhong Xu became nice to Ti Lan ? I kept skipping so I missed it but I enjoy their scenes now that…
After she almost bleeds to death because of that stupid birth control soup. He then has a talk with Haishi who helps him see that he's ready to move on.
YES!I'm just watching some clips and Shifu was a total ass twords poor Haishi a lot of the time. The expressions…
I can just picture how that letter would go: " Are you eating enough? I don't want you to lose weight." "Have you met any nice young men?" "Haishi, you may have noticed some changes in your body..." Hahaha

I sense he's a bit terrified - and I don't know that he's been in a situation of that kind of fear. So he does what many of us do: he takes it out on the one loves the most. Poor Haishi! 😪😭😪
FJM was quite cruel to HS at the start wasn’t he? Poor HS 😩
YES! I'm just watching some clips and Shifu was a total ass twords poor Haishi a lot of the time. The expressions that WC used for FJM during those moments conveyed (IMHO) awkwardness and fear! He was used to dealing with men. No matter how you try to take Haishi as a male, she's always going to be a woman. (I did wonder how Shifu taught and delt with things like her period, and teaching her about sex!😉) I don't think he knows how to deal with the romantic feelings he has growing for her because their relationship has always been deciple / child and teacher / parental figure. He's pushing her away by being cruel. Remember his hesitation when she was poisoned and he had to pull down her shirt to suck out the poison? And just who was it that changed her out of those wet clothes? UUMMM HMMM!
Well friends... It looks like we're not the only ones who were hit emotionally with the ending of this show. Here's news about it in China. https://youtu.be/uyO8jUhtQMU
Happy or Sad ending? I don't wanna read the comments cos I know there are a lot of spoilers lurking...
Without doing a spoiler, I can say it that It depends on what you personally consider or interpret a happy or sad ending. For example: In my opinion, ( for me, that is..) TLB had a happy ending. 2 of the 3 couples worked out. So it's all up to you .

I see it as he was trying to be firm and teach discipline to Haishi and reel her behavior in, but when he starts having feelings that turn from teacher / disciple to a man and a woman, It think it scares him because he hasn't felt this way about anyone before. He pushes her away cruelly to try to squash her feelings for him because HE can't deal with it... Plus, he doesn't want to be with her and die making her a widow. Just my humble opinion.

Anyone up for discussion on this?
" Are you eating enough? I don't want you to lose weight."
"Have you met any nice young men?"

Hahaha
Because of it's pattern he called it his watermelon robe.
I'm not the biggest Yang Mi fan, but I thought she was amazing in this role.
Thanks!
