It's not draggy tho, just a little bit of side stories. I think you're not that interested with side characters…
yes the side stories they covered in the mortal realm were intriguing to say the least. who would have thought we needed changheng and dfqc bromance? and more focus on the black dragon and his jeili! xiao run and cricket were also fun to watch. without them the show wouldn't have been as interesting as it is now. the final product is a result of all the minute details and every small pairings combined and I am so glad this drama put effort into really tying the whole circle close not a lot of dramas do that nowadays
Did he lose his childhood friend? I must have missed that :(
no not his friend it was his caretaker i forgot the name but she taught him to play the zither for his father's birthday and the father had got mad and ordered her to be executed:((
just saw a tumblr post comparing the way dfqc wiped xlh's tears in ep8 (harshly wiping it away with a single hand) versus ep 26(gently holding her face in both of his hands and caressing those tears away with his eyes screaming love) and i am in tears again lol
DFQC has to go through so much pain in this its heart shattering. First losing his childhood for training to be the Moon Supreme, losing his favourite person(his maid), being tortured in the fuju cave, having to kill his father and then carrying the blame for it and losing all the 7 emotions:(( .
then being trapped in that tower for 30,000 years taking those lightning strikes for his brother being on a constant struggle with himself when those emotions finally resurface poor baby had no idea what to do with them he really wanted to destroy that tree:(( also after he accepted himself and his love, fate wouldn't let him be at peace for a single day. he had to take those bone devouring spikes to get a chance to be with xlh. and the coming days are also not looking so good for xlh's wooden head.
binged watched the 30 episodes in 3 days and its been one hell of a ride! Everything is so well done in this drama, i can't remember the last time i was so hooked to one. The production, the scriptwriting, THE CGI, the ost, the music score, all of it is chef's kiss.
