I’m not looking for a husband in a drama either. 😂 There’s a difference between enjoying a morally grey or toxic character and romanticizing a man who ignores a woman’s consent. I can enjoy flawed characters, but a woman trying to get away from a man while he corners her and grabs her face isn’t romantic tension to me. It’s uncomfortable to watch, especially if the story is going to turn this into a love story.

Cheng Lei may be doing a great job as an actor, but that’s not what I’m criticizing. My issue is with the writing. There’s a difference between portraying a toxic character and romanticizing his behavior. A man cornering a woman who’s trying to get away from him, touching her without her consent, and then manipulating her is not something I find entertaining, especially when it seems to be setting up a romance. That’s what bothers me about this role.
The male lead is obsessive, narcissistic and toxic. Why would they write such a character? It's no different from a mini-drama. Chang Lei's worst role for me.
