Hip concept is the main driver of the race
Absolutely crazy retro setting for a car action film, everything looks really cool and colorful, from a bunch of classic cars to vintage fashion, the production spent a whole lot of effort in the visual designs of this film. The story though took some time to start kicking, the first half is basically a flashy intro that lasted too long, things only get interesting when the team plans for the revenge grand scheme to take down the corrupted military dictatorship. The final car chase scenes have some intense moves but yet to be groundbreaking. The mission seems like an easy miracle and everything is a perfect plan, but the hip concept is basically the main driver of the race to the finish line.Was this review helpful to you?
Cyberpunk inspired third person virtual reality
A totally experimental and ridiculous action thriller that somehow able to achieve the director's ambitious vision. It's sort of a cyberpunk inspired third person virtual reality mixed bag, and I believe majority will be put off by its nauseating camera works, but getting motion sickness for 2 hours is totally worth it, I'm in for it. Joo Won gets extremely physical and maximum adrenaline in every action scene from the start to the end, not really sure whether it can be said as an enjoyable cinematic experience, but it does look sick as fuck. The romantic equation that makes your heart flutters
Beautifully crafted warm melodrama with heart fluttering soundtrack, embraced by its soothing and mellow cinematography. The main driving plotline that upholds this drama is the brilliant education politics that triggers superbly tight tension between mind war, which has set up some of the very intriguing faceoff in the drama. Then there's the romantic equation, that makes you keep solving it until you find the answers, trembling yet excited as we moving closer towards it, as the solution uncovers.Was this review helpful to you?
Much better than S2
A solid closure with way better stakes offered and more critical plot development after picking up from the remainder of S2. The plot is just significantly better over the S2 as they still have some great new tricks up in their sleeves which is pretty surprising, almost like they're trying to save the best for the last. It's still the acting performance powerhouse like before that will leave your mind unsettling, every lead characters were given their big moment to shine before wrapping up, fortunately this final season does not disappoint at all while landing itself a satisfying enough conclusion for the series to end honorably.Was this review helpful to you?
Surgeon drama on crack
It's definitely very intense, Ju Jihoon literally carried the whole drama and made the scenes very believable. There's a constant adrenaline rush in the way they design the suspense, which is almost pressing at full throttle for most of the runtime, though the actions might overwhelm the plot development a little. The dialogues did use some comical nature in it which feels a little far stretched at times, but the whole production is insanely solid and it'll be the best medical kdrama ever released.Was this review helpful to you?
Bloated and repetitive, glad that now it has come to an end.
It's just an unnecessary extension of S2 where it keeps going on and on using the same plot with barely any new information to offer, just endless cgi fights that looks uncooked. At least it has an okay closure that put a stop to all these disappointments, let's just keep them in a safe place at a sweet home and never bring them back again.Was this review helpful to you?
Heartfelt progress throughout every episode
I guess many have underestimated this drama as just a shallow romantic drama, but somehow it has the ability to tap into modern relationship problems deeply, especially during the latter half of the drama where there are serious talks about the effects and consequences of engaging in a relationship. Consideration ranges from workplace, marriage, children, parents, and family, the story involved multilayered factors from several viewpoints. Well of course some may choose to refrain from going into this path, but for those who're already in it or soon, this drama has surprisingly given most of its insights with strong reference to reality. Actors were able to leave a great impression with excellent acting, plus the well built structure of the storyline including its meteorology material, it's been a long time since there's a rom-com that could achieve such heartfelt progress throughout every episode.Was this review helpful to you?

It's ironic how a society that runs with the model of money has already decided the starting line of every young students by their ancestors even before they become an "adult". Whether they thrive through as what they called as "success", or someone who is on the another end of the spectrum, that do not know why they were always in debt, the contrast has already been planted since young age. In order to have a taste in that power, one can either run relentlessly without knowing where to end, or those who eventually stops fighting over it already knowing what is best for them. The drama cleverly uses the magician as a neutral device to tap into what their beliefs are, and he questions the consequences of both directions in a musical and magical fashion. Just like how the magician always ask, do you believe in magic? Whether if it's real or fake, it really doesn't matter as long as you're comfortable with what you're believing in and when it's able to preserve the innocence we once had at the end of the day.Was this review helpful to you?
Not even close to Penthouse
A little over soapy rather than classy, nothing too special in its cinematography department, which is quite surprising given that it's a Netflix original, it somehow just look like drama that came out from the major tv stations. The pressure point and strategies they implemented won't make you scream as the script seems unimaginative, it sadly ended up with bland characters and largely repetitive dialogues that miss the mark. Making the unbelievable believable
Insane suspense and foreshadowing for a crime film that comes with its very own unique twist of beliefs, and that irony thrown onto religious worshippers is just top class technique that makes even the unbelievable believable, as if we are all bound to these complicated crossroads of destiny by default. The cinematography and sound was so well handled, although the pacing of the story might lack a little of those solid punches, but that one-take closing sequence really redeemed its strength for the overall execution of the plot, and the director has successfully done such a divine work once again.Was this review helpful to you?
Most of its plot revolves around a closed setting
The movie seems to have a large scale resistance movement theme but actually most of its plot revolves around the interrogation of five suspects in a remote torture area at a seaside cliff, only until the ending the story expands into something bigger, but still the closing sequence is quite unsatisfying because at the end someone else becomes the alternate villain which is kinda weird for this kind of movie. Despite that, the cinematography and soundtrack is excellent enough to give it a somewhat artistic finish.Was this review helpful to you?
Flashy but hollow
It's a mixed bag to a very serious degree, they're going for extreme cult comedy that even the main arc itself is about fighting a religious cult leader, paired together with characters that acquired superhuman abilities due to some organ transplantation mythology. Most of the time the storyline was quite witty but also consistently dumb, one of the better aspects is the chemistry between the actors and their charismatic acting as they liven up the characters. The cgi part though is literally the weakest thing in this movie, they just don't look realistic on screen, whether intentionally or not, the unrefined graphics are sadly quite distracting to look at.Was this review helpful to you?
Like an extremely solid extended director's cut movie
This is how a proper monstrous drama should look like, an absolutely much better take compared to some of the Korean "monsterflix" lately that are mostly disappointing. The storyline has a lot of clever surprises along with characters that make hell lots of sense, character motivation is crystal clear even during highly complicated face-offs. The action sequences and graphics are so powerful it's totally top class cinema, the soundtrack plays an even bigger part in progressing the suspense, it's unbelievably well tuned to its fighting scenes. Best election theme kdrama to date
The initial story building is extremely brilliant, the setup packs a lot of punch and it was executed cleanly with great impact. Then the story shifted onto the main theme of election campaign, at here we're getting a full range of political agendas and modern election mechanism that are relevant to the real world. The political war is so intense but also very realistic, the direction is clear for each sides of the candidacy in the run, with tactics that are all plenty interesting to watch. Even until the closing part it was still able to shock viewers with its final blow and give the drama a satisfying ending, making it one the best election theme kdrama to date.Was this review helpful to you?
More people should watch it to know the truth behind cults
The whole documentary about religious cults is just fucking weird, because the cases in this documentary are all true events, which makes it even weirder. All of the cult leaders are basically criminals who commit crime using the name of the Lord, brainwashing people and deceiving their followers like a grand scale of scam. The documentary goes so deeply into how everything operated in those cults, it's hard to imagine why so many people would believe in this kind of stuff. It is really terrifying but also highly informative, more people should watch it so that no more victims will ever fall for these shits again.Was this review helpful to you?
