yall how am i supposed to move on. last night when i was trying to sleep lee sunhee's ost kept playing in my head 😠i woke up with a very heavy heart i feel like i was in the story and experienced the tragedy myself
just realized we reached 9.0 ratings !! absolutely deserve. make sure to mark as helpful those reviews which you think will help others know what kind of drama it is.
absolutely!! i love the director of trs so much. i thought no one can beat lee eung bok in terms of cinematography in dramas, but director jung ji in seems to have a chance to surpass him. i'm actually surprised this was the only work of her that garnered attention
i think because the writers and director of the drama are women, this makes how the drama express women's struggles back then a whole lot better. they really did a great job, they depicted completely how harsh women's reality was in joseon, especially in the palace.
i saw someone on twitter say, the main villain of this story is the palace. and that hit me right there, all the villains went and left after their part. there was never a character which could be considered as the main antagonist. but the palace was there all along- the palace's policies and restrictions are what made everyone miserable.
gonna miss commenting here 😠trs was the only drama where i engaged in the comment section of mdl. i hope junho and seyoung really reunites in a romcom drama and we'll see each other again
the red sleeve beautifully portrayed the reality of joseon era. the harsh reality of polygamy and life in the palace. i don't think i've ever seen a kdrama portray the struggles of various types of people living in joseon as well as the red sleeve does. from the queen dowager who was trapped inside the palace, the king who was a son of a lowly maid, a man who wanted his sister to reach the top of the pyramid, a court lady who wanted death inside the palace, a princess whose son died in her stead, a king who had to fulfill his duties no matter what, and of course, a court lady who only wanted freedom.
they ended the drama in the most beautiful way possible. the writing is not perfect, but it did an outstanding job in making the drama exquisite and impactful.
"If this is a past memory, it is fine. If it is a dream, it is fine. It does not matter if I am dead. I will always choose this moment with you, and hope this moment to not change. For this moment to be forever." - Yisan
"So the moment... became forever." - Deokim
And that is how the 22nd ruler of Joseon, left his country to stay with the first and only woman he has loved, he loves and will love forever in that moment.
Congratulations! "The Red Sleeve Cuff (2021)" has taken over the 1st position for the saddest ever Korean drama…
you should watch mr sunshine !! idk which is sadder between the red sleeve and that because it's been years since i watched it, but i remember it took me a very long time to move on from it. tho the main characters are fictitious, the events are true to life and the groups of people. basically whole setting is part of history.
kinda wish that junho has a surprise ost for us like lee sun hee, and that it'll play when deokim dies or when he's mourning for her because i love pain. tho it's probably unlikely because he's been too busy with the shoot
if you guys wanna see some snippets from the novel, search "@yuuru0911 #TheRedSleeve" on twitter !! they also post how a scene from the drama that's taken from the novel was written.
is it just me i kinda miss princess hwawan HAHAHHAHAHA not that i want her to come back and ruin things tho. i think it's the actress that i missed? she did a really great job portraying her character. i was hoping she'd receive an award for it.
Saw Lee Jun Ho in Good Manager first and found him really impressive in it, but he has hit it out of the park…
i think it was yisan's words in that scene that convinced her. the scene showed yisan's character development and it was the most sincere & transparent he has ever been to her. instead of the usual "i want you to be my concubine", he said "thank you". deokim saw that he genuinely wanted to bring back what they had before.
"The palace is such a dazzling prison."
"So the moment... became forever." - Deokim
And that is how the 22nd ruler of Joseon, left his country to stay with the first and only woman he has loved, he loves and will love forever in that moment.
