I love the Crown Prince character and the by-play between him and MuDoek. Looks like he is falling for her too despite the disparity between their respective positions in society. Besides the fantasy elements (which I love), I also like the titbits of romance sprinkled between the various characters. Makes them more interesting and 'in-depth'. Loving also, the enigmatic Master Lee who obviously knows more than he is letting on about the complex, reciprocally beneficial and 'fated' relationship between Mu Doek and Jang Wook. Big thumbs up to the writers and production crew for bringing this fascinating drama to life.

All the more reason for a contemporary 'reincarnation' drama depicting those same characters in a liberated life.

I waited impatiently for 2 other historical romances but I stumbled upon this drama and was caught by surprise. All the actors are superb but the ML and FL are portrayed with longing and sizzle all the way through. So, in my opinion Lee Junho and Lee Se Young are on another level again. Sublime.
I sat mesmerised when they were on screen together. Have just watched ep 17 and even though they tried to leave us positively, am still crying!
CBS need to make a modern 'reincarnation' drama with the same production crew and characters played by the same actors so us hopeless romantics can have our sad hearts eased. But in this one Sung Deok Im will finally give Yi San back the devoted love he gave her for so many years -even beyond her death. Let's petition them till they do.

I loved your future storyline as I like there to be a happy ending and this couple who were forced to put everyone and everything before themselves for so long deserve it. It was bad enough that DX and TL died so tragically but I couldn't bear it if FJM and FH could experience only the briefest time of togetherness before once again being torn apart by sacrificing themselves for the greater good. . I read/saw a lot of reviews criticising William Che, calling him expressionless and wooden but I saw him portray a man under constant pressure, who had to hide every thought, every emotion, every premeditation, even longing - expressionless was exactly how he had to play FJM. So, when he said finally revealed his love it was so much more impactful. Having seen his interviews and video chats, William Chen is very outgoing and laughs and smiles constantly, so his character portrayal, requiring him to suppress his spontaneity was superb and must have cost him dearly. Yang Mi has now been FL in two of my favourite dramas and she is both beautiful and a consummate actor. I re-watch TMOPB again and again because she is kick ass there too (in most of her 'lives') and because of the sizzle between her and Mark Chao I know I'll do the same with Pearl Eclipse, especially keeping your storyline continuation in mind to keep me from feeling depressed. I could write at length about all that I loved in this drama but want to end here by saying thank you.

CharacterLin Jin Jin is SO-O-O irritating. Why do script writers create such a character that is such a waste of viewing time? Almost made me give up watching. Thank goodness for skip button.

I LOVE this series!!! It is not one to watch with your mind. You watch it with your heart, many moments carefully crafted to tug and make you yearn for some happiness for each and every character. Yes - as each episode unfolded, even the fraudulent actress who triggered BJ's calamity is a conflicted, traumatised victim. I wait with bated breath for Saturdays and Sundays (when it is aired in NZ) Although I really enjoy both CDrama and KDrama - this is the BEST I've watched (felt ) in ages.

Thank you for this very informative article about a very talented, hardworking yet humble young man who never gave up. I enjoyed his portrayal of Hao Du in The Long Ballad, May he remain successful and a decent human being.
