like however flawed people's opinions are I still feel that most good dramas always stay above the 8.0 rating and you can tell they are well loved in terms of production, concept, storyline. While it may not apply to all with no exceptions, I feel it holds true to majority of the dramas I have come across so far.
If you wanna say it in a math sense, like the extreme ratings whether overestimated or underestimated under a large majority of voters will eventually even out to form a normal distribution which is to the say the peak/average score. (ofc I don't think this will apply for Douban sadly :( )

I disagree I admire the Actresses you have named that you consider "bad" and popular. It was not without reason that they made it big. Their talent and skills put them in the positions they are today and that is especially so for yang zi. for dilraba and yang mi you have to understand many of the shows they are put into are due to audience tastes and preferences. Even if they want to step out of their comfort zones the public are accustomed to the roles they typically play and even so they still execute it well. As for "allenYu" I assume you are talking about Yu Meng long -- in that aspect I'll agree that his acting is still lacking in my opinion for roles he played as the lead.
