I think it's because Pran was tired of the people and why they fought all these years for(and mainly his character too), that's why he was the one crying(Than coz he was an uke). As we saw how Pran saved lil Pa back then, we can see that he isn't someone who can stay "enemies". He's too much of a soft boi for all that and when younger Pat came to give his watch everything crumbled down. That's why I'm sure he was fine with Pat growing up in school and university time. Pat knows he can't be apologizing for something he didn't do so, there wasn't much point in crying when he loves Pran way too much
