Personally, I don't think the FL should've given SML the amount of time she did. She should've maintained some distance considering it was too rushed how the SML was moving as "Friends" and why was she at his beck and call!? She could've just denied so many things when it came to SML... I just lost count.
Just onto Ep 12..... WTF is wrong with the SML? I get that he probably likes that the FL waited for THE one too but he can't be obsessive about it! She might not like him as a guy! The dumb philosophies he's even teaching Minmin is crazy!
I was so wowed by some of the cast like.... they had Yuan song, Chang Huan, Canyang, Minmin and even Cong Xiao! Like they're huge in other dramas I've watched of theirs. But this drama is so stupid when it comes to the plot of how the story leads.

Ohhh right! But he doesn't really acknowledge him as a parental figure other than that he came to know that he is probably his dad. There's isn't definite proof(in the drama for him)

2,3. Pretty sure Da Som isn't Seo Hyun Tae's but someone else's. Da Som's was an accident.
4. In 1984 they all did research for TH-5 and there were problems but Seo Hyun Tae used his influence to get it(patent) accepted but Ryu Sung Hee told someone or threatened that she'd(Hence she was a whistleblower)
The 3 who went to her place said she shouldn't have done that blah blah blah.... were arguing(Under SeoHT's orders) and accidentally set fire when they were pushing RyuSH around. Da Som died in that fire and RyuSH started killing them(those 3 researchers) for revenge(for Da Som)

About your first and second question, it was because his(ChaJH) mother's crimes that led to the disastrous events which happened and though it wasn't Jae Hwan's fault and he helped him a lot..... he was last person to see and talk to Hyo kyung. If we see the timeline Doc didn't much time to sync all in - Finding out the real chimera from 35yrs ago, learning he has a sibling, the lawyer ajusshi's betrayal(not telling about the said sibling) and the sibling's death. So, how or what to talk to Jae Hwan? He needed the time before could decide if he even wants to talk to him in the future. That's why.... is my theory.
Kim Hyo Kyung..... she probably lived all her life for the truth about 35 yrs ago since she found she was Lee Sang Woo's daughter. And lived only for it. Though finding her brother was alive was quite a surprise to her. Maybe she died because she couldn't kill Seo Hyun Tae?(Could be) [It would have been a mess, if I start imagining how the story goes if she were to be alive]
She could've killed herself bcoz she wanted her death to weigh on the fact that the world has to know her father was innocent. And I don't think he could've saved her
