When I first saw this listed at World of BL, it didn't really interest me at all. No offense but for me, Pinoy BL quality can only be mediocre at best. At least based on my experience watching Pinoy BLs. So, I put off watching it until recently. I've only seen the first episode so far.
First of all, I'm not sold on the "I'm so handsome/he's so handsome" deal. To be perfectly honest, these boys aren't really the type you'd describe as "so handsome" compared to other BL actors. Just being real.
Second of all, it's boring. The scenes are dragging. You can skip a whole 5 minutes and not miss anything. The acting, although decent, needs a lot of improvement especially with the line delivery. The cinematography is better than a lot of Pinoy BLs recently, but could use some improvements. The audio could be better too. Sometimes the dialogue could be barely heard.
It's not all bad though. I like the fact that at least two of the characters are at least self-confessed gay and they're brothers too! It makes it a bit more believable and interesting. That's all I can say about Love Is though as I can only get myself to watch the first episode. I don't think I can continue watching it.
Why isn't it BL if one of the characters is openly gay? I'm confused
Cause there's also a genre called "gay-themed". I mean BL and gay-themed are similar in a way but I kinda associate gay-themed with openly-gay characters and BL with straight-turned-gay characters. Before the BL genre became mainstream here in the PH, all male-male movies/series were called gay-themed that's why I get confused sometimes.
What on earth does that mean? Are you saying BL characters have to be straight?
I mean the original concept of BL is two straight guys falling for each other. At least that's my understanding. I could be wrong though. Please correct me if I am. That's why I said I'm not sure.

So far, I like it. No nudity/sex scene on the first episode. Please don't turn this into softcore porn like what others are doing. Acting is decent but needs improvement especially Mamita's, if she's going to have more scenes after this episode.
Honestly, I didn't know about this series and who the actors will be, so I didn't have any expectations. The way Jethro's character was being introduced in the scene, I was expecting to be blown away by his looks, but that didn't happen, no offense. There were actually better-looking extras, at least in my opinion.
Best actor so far is the girl playing the fag hag. Fave scene was the entrance of those three loud gay extras. That was funny without being over-acting.
PS. Not sure if this can be considered BL since at least one of them, Mario, seems to be openly gay.

He's barely recognizable now compared to last year's Love and Redemption. I'm pretty sure he had a nose job and had his teeth fixed. I never would've guessed he was the lead star in The Lost Tomb 2 if I hadn't read his name. I find it really difficult to watch The Lost Tomb 2 now without thinking how different he looks now. His original charm has gone.
Everything was really bad. The shower scene was just too cringey. Everything was a joke.
I wish Filipinos just stop producing BL shows when all they have to shoot the scenes are their smartphones.
