Hooking drama; give Youning a chance
Being heavily Agatha Christies inspired, understandably, the series has highly convoluted crimes solved by an exceptionally smart detective.
I'm incredibly impressed by how hooked I was to this drama. This is the first time I watched a 36 episodes long drama, without any long pauses in between. And that was because it was fast-pased, sub-plot packed, and gave me no space to be bored and walk away.
The main leads were fun, and the drama pretty much masked the fact that our inspector plays no significant role in any investigation by a distracting and confusing bromance. I kept rationalising it to support the main couple but there were just too many ambiguous instances.
The very widely hated female lead, in my opinion does not deserve it. She did seem annoying in the beginning with all the interruptions but if the people whose life she shares can unsee that, I do not need to bicker. WIthin first couple of episodes, in fact I had a positive opinion of her. She was strong, opinionated alright, with a sense of justice. If she is a bit spoiled, well so is our main lead imo. Two rich kids, we've all seen worse.
The opening and ending songs- ABSOLUTE banger and Soothing af. Both added to my playlist!
I like the cinematography, editing, and acting.
I will not deny the fact that many plots were so confusing I just let Lu Yao say whatever and pretended that it was a possible method of crime lol.
Overall, loved it though something that long cannot make into my rewatch list.
