I know what you’re saying. There are just actors that have no convincing/emphatic auras. It’s like looking at a monochrome picture. The voice, the looks, and expressions are totally devoid of moving you even if they’re crying buckets or screaming with their lungs about to burst.. I watch Dilraba and her eyes speak to me. No need for screaming or hyper movement. My mind keeps reminding me that Gillian Anderson a.k.a Dana Scully” of the X-Files was like this. Totally in control but very effective in her role that she won tons of best actress award for the said Tv show during its run. Watched 2 Yangzi dramas because her MLS were Li Xian and Deng Lun. Seven Tan, I dropped the drama she was in after a few minutes. Sorry for the long comment. I’m so active in TBW pages 1 & 2 since I’m really enjoying Reba and Allen in their character as Changyi and Ji Yun He

Could be. There weren’t any specific ruling or strongest demon clan in the novel; individual such as the demon Cat King who was beheaded and , the Green Phoenix was the strongest living. No mention of the fox clan. So just adding cliches I.e, love rival, compressed demon group to make connections with how FL became a demon courtesy of Ling Cang Lan’s demon slave who happened to be of course lo and behold from that annoying fox clan. And also what @Jules L mentioned in one of her comments. It sucked for us who read the novel because all the nuances are justified in the book. Even the emperor was briefly mentioned by the author till he was killed by Shunde. But the drama has given him quite a lot of airtime. Oh well, I hope they tie up these annoyances properly.
