I see, and very indeed, however if im reading the very first of this comment of this thread and other comments, they are not against anything that you listed, I mean what you saying is logical however they did not say they were against any of that, they simply stated they against the romantization of Rape in BL, not worded the same but still on same mood spectrum, other comment simply stated that scene that made uncomfortable, and were met hell fire crusade verbal attack. Yes. Who was it for you? Clearly you relate in depth with Yong Jie's character more. I assume it comes from experiencing a similar state of and desperation for someone who doesn't feel the same which results in bad choiced whichs hurts the other party. So I asked so was it for you?
I have watched this show twice and I have to say its a pretty good and I only had 2 major dislikes about 1) I wish it was 16 episodes thats way Li Cheng and Teng Muren story could properly be flushed out. 2) The relationship between Simon and Yong Jie (😩sighs with entire being😩) no matter how you look at it ep 4 ....that was premeditated rape and unfortunately its a romantized troup in a lot of BL and top of that they were step brothers. So you have both incestuous and romanticized rape undertone. Whew! though they tried to make light hearted and sweet its was clear as day that yong jie was Toxic (and twisted)manipulative with simon and his family and you see as he tries to wear Simon down to accept! The whole was romance between them was mostly shot from Yong Jie POV, and with BL we tend have rose tinted glasses which has desensitized us from the reality! If this happened in real life, whew!! It'd be a horror shit. They show tried to touch on both povs but i wished approached it in a realistic sense and have the deal with issues they set forth.
