Yes, I heard that as well (in regards to Linghe being an introvert). Ruohan is as well, which Xingyue mentioned at the iQIYI 717 IP Festival when the MCs asked Xingyue about his 1st impression of Ruohan. He revealed how shy and quiet she was when they first met versus how drastically different she is now with him, which we see how comfortable and playful she is with Xingyue as we watched their reuter clips from the past 2 & 1/2 months. Also my rating changed a little bit since my last reply to you about the bts ranking between TBT vs. LIRD due to the additional bts clips from July 18th and July 19th clips. I still have them as 1a and 1b, but right now I want to say based on the bts clips thus far...Xingyue & Ruohan bts chemistry is starting to edge above Linghe & Ruohan bts chemistry if I'm being honest with myself.

I don't know if I can compare them just yet. The reason why is because I didn't get to follow TBT while it was filming so I didn't get to see all of the reuter clips that were posted by the fans. However, I did see all the bts clips posted by iQIYI on their youtube channels of Linghe & Ruohan on set or outside on a semi-closed set where there isn't a ton of fans around watching them or visible to them while they were filming and in those bts they were cute with each other and Linghe seem more relaxed with being flirty or playful with Ruohan. Where as some of the bts clips that were taken by fans when they were shooting outside with a bunch of fans watching them film, they didn't seem to be as talkative or playful because I think Linghe was aware of how much hate Ruohan was getting online, not from his pure fans, but more from the CP fans of his other dramas. His pure fans were actually defending Ruohan from the hate she was getting online according to some of the post I've seen online. Lolz I'll rate them as 1a and 1b for now until I get see the bts clips posted by iQIYI of Xingyue & Ruohan on set as well.

Whoa..so much drama going on there. I feel bad for these young girls where they are being compared with each other and the entertain industry is basically trying to make them compete with each other or pit them against one another. I hope both will stay strong and survive the harsh world of the ent-industry because as we've seen in any country's entertainment industry it can be a brutal environment to be in.

I love that Xingyue fans and Ruohan fans have gotten along so well and have been so supportive of this couple. I see on TikTok..other Ruohan fans going to Xingyue's fan post about LIRD and leaving nice and supportive comments for both actors and vice versa. I don't know if it's the same for C-net fans, but International fans are definitely cool with each other and are loving the couple. 😊🥰Glad that the atmosphere here along with our lovely couple can give you a breather from all that tension over there.

Ruohan actually have 2 upcoming dramas that will either air later this year or early next year. One is called, Our Dazzling Days, which she is guest starring in that modern drama..according to MDL. The other one is a costume drama, which she stars in with Zhou Keyu...called, Sweetest Rebellion. I'm definitely excited for the Sweetest Rebellion because of some of the bts clips I've seen on TikTok.
I saw a video on TikTok where it showed Xingyue thru the years of when he first started acting and roles he played in each drama and how old he was in those dramas. He definitely got more handsome as he have gotten older. I didn't realize he was only 23 yrs old when I first found out he was Ruohan's next ML. I thought he was older..like 26-28 yrs old. He gives off that mature look, which is actually a good thing for him then he can pull off more roles that require a more mature looking ML like a CEO role, but he can still play those roles where the ML is a university student. After watching that clip of him from the age of 17 to now in those roles, I agree that Ruohan is getting the best of him because she's not getting a young man/flower boy, but a man that's confident and masculine. It's one of the reasons why they look so good together..lolz.

I think the last one I kept up with was Grey's Anatomy, but I lost interest after most of the original cast left the show and was like 7 or 9 yrs ago. Wow...you go wayyyy back all the way to the silent film era...that's really cool. I use to watch some old Hollywood movie..like Gone With the Wind and a few others that I can't think of the names, but I can picture them in my head. However, I do love watching British period films or tv-series. I think I've watched every Pride & Prejudice and Jane Eyre versions out there...hahaha.
That's cool that you are choosing these young rising actors so that you can follow their careers in the early stages and get to see their development as time goes by. I'll watch a costume C-drama that's as old as 2017 and for a modern drama I'll watch something as old as 2018.
I haven't seen The Story of Pearl Girl because the storyline doesn't seem like it has any romance and the ML doesn't appeal to me look wise. I know I sound shallow, but I can't stand watching a drama and wishing that the ML or FL was someone else playing along with the FL or ML that I like. The visuals and storyline has to be align to make me want to start a drama then the acting has to align as well for me to finish the drama.

There are some clips where I watch multiple times especially if it's a cute clip of Xingyue & Ruohan and then I'll see a lot clips again because of fan edits on TikTok. Watching these clip repeatedly is helping me patiently wait for this drama to finally air, even though it won't be until sometime next year (hopefully).
I was a casual fan of Chinese dramas. I would watch maybe 3 to 4 C-dramas a year because I also watched Korean dramas and Thai dramas as well. However, this past year or two I've been watching more C-dramas since there are more romantic dramas to choose from than K-dramas and it's been harder to find English sub to Thai dramas with ML & FL couples I like (and it seems like they are shifting to more BL or GL dramas, which I have no interest in).
With me being a casual C-drama fan, I would choose to watch a drama first based on the storyline and then watch the trailer to see if ML & FL look cute together or not since I don't follow any of the c-actors/actresses careers and barely remember their names. That's how I stumble upon watching Ruohan in "Perfect and Casual" in 2021 and Xingyue in "First Love" in 2023. These last couple of years, I start remembering some of the actresses names because either I've watch multiple dramas of theirs by chance or because their role in a drama left a really good impression on me and those actresses includes Zhao Lusi, Xu Ruohan, Bai Lu, and a few others. However, as I got more into C-dramas this past year or two...I can honestly say Lusi and Ruohan are my bias. After watching Ruohan in TBT in April, I started to follow her career on social media (1st time doing so for any c-actors). That's how I found out about "Love in Red Dust" and this is the first C-drama where I'm following from the very beginning with first the news of Ruohan's casting then to the script reading then to pre-production to booting ceremony to filming and then of course on to the waiting game of when it's going to air. Usually I would find out about C-dramas (that I've watched) months or even a year or two after they have aired. During this process of following LIRD and following Ruohan's updates on social media, I've learned a lot about the Chinese entertainment industry and all the terms used by C-drama fans, such as reuter clips, 1st billing, etc...hahaha.
Even though I haven't watched all of Ruohan's dramas, I feel confident in saying..."The Best Thing" is her best drama. To try to move from TBT...lolz I went back to watch these 2 dramas of Ruohan's....so I'll recommend these 2 dramas.
- "Perfect and Casual" - The first drama I ever saw of Ruohan. It's also her debut drama. Her and Miles Wei were cute in this drama. Miles was her first on-screen kiss (possibly her 1st kiss as well according to some fans, but it could be a mistranslation of the bts interview). It's a light hearted romantic drama with the contract marriage trope. After you watch the drama then check out their bts videos on youtube...it's sooo freaken cute! - "Go Back Lover" - It's Li Yunrui first leading role. Ruohan's character here is more bold & sophisticated compared to her naive & sweet character in Perfect and Casual. Not going to lie..it could have been better, but I go back and watch drama for Yunrui & Ruohan's scenes because they have some hot & cute scenes and I also love the friendship between Ruohan and her 2 friends in the drama. And her 2 friends does get paired up with Yunrui's 2 friends. After you finish the drama, you should definitely watch the bts videos. I think I saw something on Twitter/X on my FYP regarding a controversy where a 16 yr old or 17 yr old girl got casted as FL with a ML who is a 27 or 28 yr old dude and it's a romance drama...is that the same drama you are referring to?
I love that Xingyue fans and Ruohan fans have gotten along so well and have been so supportive of this couple. I see on TikTok..other Ruohan fans going to Xingyue's fan post about LIRD and leaving nice and supportive comments for both actors and vice versa. I don't know if it's the same for C-net fans, but International fans are definitely cool with each other and are loving the couple. 😊🥰Glad that the atmosphere here along with our lovely couple can give you a breather from all that tension over there.
I saw a video on TikTok where it showed Xingyue thru the years of when he first started acting and roles he played in each drama and how old he was in those dramas. He definitely got more handsome as he have gotten older. I didn't realize he was only 23 yrs old when I first found out he was Ruohan's next ML. I thought he was older..like 26-28 yrs old. He gives off that mature look, which is actually a good thing for him then he can pull off more roles that require a more mature looking ML like a CEO role, but he can still play those roles where the ML is a university student. After watching that clip of him from the age of 17 to now in those roles, I agree that Ruohan is getting the best of him because she's not getting a young man/flower boy, but a man that's confident and masculine. It's one of the reasons why they look so good together..lolz.
Oh I thought you were a veteran of C-ent because you seem to know a lot about what's going on. Yeah, I don't watch American shows anymore. I think the last one I kept up with was Grey's Anatomy, but I lost interest after most of the original cast left the show and was like 7 or 9 yrs ago. Wow...you go wayyyy back all the way to the silent film era...that's really cool. I use to watch some old Hollywood movie..like Gone With the Wind and a few others that I can't think of the names, but I can picture them in my head. However, I do love watching British period films or tv-series. I think I've watched every Pride & Prejudice and Jane Eyre versions out there...hahaha.
That's cool that you are choosing these young rising actors so that you can follow their careers in the early stages and get to see their development as time goes by. I'll watch a costume C-drama that's as old as 2017 and for a modern drama I'll watch something as old as 2018.
I haven't seen The Story of Pearl Girl because the storyline doesn't seem like it has any romance and the ML doesn't appeal to me look wise. I know I sound shallow, but I can't stand watching a drama and wishing that the ML or FL was someone else playing along with the FL or ML that I like. The visuals and storyline has to be align to make me want to start a drama then the acting has to align as well for me to finish the drama.

*Side Note: When Xingyue returned to film LIRD (after being away for a day to film his variety show on July 8th) fans start noticing the different temporary tattoos he would have on his arm 💪 starting from July 9th. Then on July 14th after finishing with her hair & make-up...we see 🧐 Ruohan with a temporary tattoo on her right arm as well. I was a casual fan of Chinese dramas. I would watch maybe 3 to 4 C-dramas a year because I also watched Korean dramas and Thai dramas as well. However, this past year or two I've been watching more C-dramas since there are more romantic dramas to choose from than K-dramas and it's been harder to find English sub to Thai dramas with ML & FL couples I like (and it seems like they are shifting to more BL or GL dramas, which I have no interest in).
With me being a casual C-drama fan, I would choose to watch a drama first based on the storyline and then watch the trailer to see if ML & FL look cute together or not since I don't follow any of the c-actors/actresses careers and barely remember their names. That's how I stumble upon watching Ruohan in "Perfect and Casual" in 2021 and Xingyue in "First Love" in 2023. These last couple of years, I start remembering some of the actresses names because either I've watch multiple dramas of theirs by chance or because their role in a drama left a really good impression on me and those actresses includes Zhao Lusi, Xu Ruohan, Bai Lu, and a few others. However, as I got more into C-dramas this past year or two...I can honestly say Lusi and Ruohan are my bias. After watching Ruohan in TBT in April, I started to follow her career on social media (1st time doing so for any c-actors). That's how I found out about "Love in Red Dust" and this is the first C-drama where I'm following from the very beginning with first the news of Ruohan's casting then to the script reading then to pre-production to booting ceremony to filming and then of course on to the waiting game of when it's going to air. Usually I would find out about C-dramas (that I've watched) months or even a year or two after they have aired. During this process of following LIRD and following Ruohan's updates on social media, I've learned a lot about the Chinese entertainment industry and all the terms used by C-drama fans, such as reuter clips, 1st billing, etc...hahaha.
Even though I haven't watched all of Ruohan's dramas, I feel confident in saying..."The Best Thing" is her best drama. To try to move from TBT...lolz I went back to watch these 2 dramas of Ruohan's....so I'll recommend these 2 dramas.
- "Perfect and Casual" - The first drama I ever saw of Ruohan. It's also her debut drama. Her and Miles Wei were cute in this drama. Miles was her first on-screen kiss (possibly her 1st kiss as well according to some fans, but it could be a mistranslation of the bts interview). It's a light hearted romantic drama with the contract marriage trope. After you watch the drama then check out their bts videos on youtube...it's sooo freaken cute!

- "Go Back Lover" - It's Li Yunrui first leading role. Ruohan's character here is more bold & sophisticated compared to her naive & sweet character in Perfect and Casual. It's a has the second chance romance trope. The storyline was okay. Not going to lie..it could have been better, but I go back and watch drama for Yunrui & Ruohan's scenes because they have some hot & cute scenes and I also love the friendship between Ruohan and her 2 friends in the drama. And her 2 friends does get paired up with Yunrui's 2 friends. After you finish the drama, you should definitely watch the bts videos.

Wow, I was not expecting you to say LIRD and that Ruohan is the one that Xingyue's has the best bts chemistry with. I thought maybe you would have ranked it 4th or 3rd being the highest, but that's so awesome to hear that you ranked his bts chemistry with her as 1st. Glad to see someone else agrees with me that their chemistry is chemistrying...lolz.
After this drama airs if we are both still around and active here lolz...then I'm going to ask where you will rank Xingyue & Ruohan's on-screen chemistry in LIRD when compared to his other dramas.
