luckily I'm the type of person who can separate the actor from the work. I think this series is still very beautiful, putting aside the actor's problems. I'm not the type of person who will watch a series or film repeatedly, in my opinion a film or series is only meant to be watched once. So I won't watch this series again, maybe if I watched this series for the first time now I might be influenced by the actor's issues, I don't know. But in my memory, this series was very fun to watch at that time so I will still say this is a very good series.
Is season 2 good? It is! But is it as good as season 1? Not even close. This series has lost its soul. If you don't agree, I dare you to rewatch the first season. The storytelling, cinematography, plot, character building — everything was perfect. Season 2? It just turned into a flashy fighting drama. Even the series intro no longer matches the tone of the story. Honestly, the intro music from Study Group would fit better with these season 2. In my opinion, season 1 should have stayed a standalone series — there was no need for a sequel. Besides, it's weird how they decided to base season 1 mainly on the webtoon's flashback arc. Of course, the tone would feel completely different if they tried to expand it into a franchise. It feels like watching Cars 2 — it's good, but the soul is totally different from the first movie. Now, I honestly can't even imagine season 3. It’ll probably just get longer and sprawl all over the place — just like the Lookism webtoon: still good, but it completely loses the original soul in the first arc of Lookism.
This would have been great — if this series aired ten years ago hahahaha. Waiting for these two to confess their feelings took as long as waiting for the series itself to be released — three whole years, omg. Hopefully, after this, production houses won't make the same mistake again. You had 10 episodes, which is longer than most BLs, but there were too many fillers, and the important parts kept getting pushed back until the very last second. It would've made much more sense if the series had shorter screen time — then it would be okay if we only got a few minutes of their dating era. We even got more screen time of the side couple dating than the main couple. Hiks.
This would be great if it just became a movie. Because the premise and storyline aren't strong enough to stretch into 8 long episodes. It felt like watching The Hobbit movies based on Tolkien's book — they turned a 300-page book into a long trilogy, which was super unnecessary.
how can they manage to make a romance series with a classic premise like 'between love and friendship' into something so entertaining like this! I can listening to Do Ba U monologue all day hahaha
Did the director forget about Jin Hwan conversation on his phone in the episode 1? Why Min Jun didn't confront about it on eps 3 when he had the chance? Oh maybe he's already forget, it's been 8 years omfg!
Chan Yeong is super annoying character, there's nothing he ever done that make me like he's personality. It's not because he's straight, i like Ji Yu more than him. He's the first one who send carrot juice as a joke, then he never felt weird when Heesu get more carrot juice after that. He doesn't care about any of his friends.
I mean, why they decided to skip their eating chicken scene?? And we need to watch every details that happened between CY and JY. I'm wondering the significant about those character's story for our Heesu, i mean if u showing story about his sister it will make a difference and a development for Heesu's character cause he seeing his surrounding. Heesu will not get anything about their long screentime. And the title is Heesu in Class 2, not Heesu and Friends in Class 2. If u want to make series about bunch of couple, i think u need to change the title. Unless u make a series with a thousand episode like Naruto hahaha.
Oh this is something different, its quite unusual, this type of story usually begin with the main couple is already separated and then we seen a flashback. But this one we already get steamy kiss on the first episode and the story begin with something like a long flashback. Maybe its because this series will air only one episode a week, so they need to showing a kiss scene from a very beginning to make "some of audience still patience to watch" and that some audience was me hehe.
Some 🤡s through the years: We don't want to see gay people love stories in our shows!Other 🤡s in modern…
I understand what you mean, personally I also wouldn't have a problem with the presence of a straight couple in a BL series. Moreover, I don't read the webtoon, so for now I just hope that like BL series in general, the portion of gay couples will be prioritized, as long as that happens then I don't have a problem with the presence of a straight couple. But maybe what makes people more angry is because they read the original webtoon? in the original work there is another gay couple who might be more important in this story but is actually removed in this adaptation. The straight couple who are actually not that significant in the webtoon are given more space in this adaptation instead of the couple who were removed. This might be the same as if there was a live action adaptation of the Naruto's manga, but they decided to remove Kakashi's character and replace him with the third hokage's Hiruzen even though Hiruzen's presence would be irrelevant because he would die anyway. I don't know, I'm just trying to understand people's concerns.
At this point I'm no longer disappointed with the second gay couple being gone. I just wish Heesu and his partner's relationship as the main couple had more screen time than the straight couple, if that happens I'm happy for now.
I like all aspects of this series, just sometimes there are a little plotholes hahaha. Like in the last scene of episode 7 there was a scene when Daon got a message from Jaemin that he was late when Daon was already in the basement. I think it's weird, if he was going to kidnap him at that time, why did you need to send an unnecessary message. I know that little message was to make the audience wonder who kidnapped Daon, whether Jaemin or Soohyun. But it disrupts the storyline with a weird logic. Yeah, but it's not that important, it's covered by the overall quality of this masterpiece hahaha.
Btw, thanks about this masterpiece Director-nim, finally i have something new to rewatch in the future hehe. Hopefully it's not gonna as desperate as the first time i watch this, felt bad about Daon in every single time hahaha.
The trailer is already released guys!! But, u need to be patience. Cause from the trailer, there's still no clue about the romance between the mens hahaha. Maybe it because there's no engsub, so i didnt really understand what they talking about. But from the visual, there's no clue if its a BL or not haha.
