Omg, Dan Yin and DFQC’s brother were originally supposed to have a love line around the end of the drama!! Chang Heng keeps getting abandoned 😂 On a more serious note, people suspect that this got edited out due to the actress who plays Dan Yin allegedly being pro Japanese… Just a quick example on the top of my head, she made a post praising Japan saying their air quality was really good (something along those lines) and when she returned to China she made a new one saying that Beijing’s air was disgusting. Even if it’s true, why did she think it was a good idea to publish this 😭😭 For the people not knowing why China (and also Korea) have such a bad relationship with Japan, it’s because Japan committed a lot of war crimes during the Sino-Japanese war (Google the rape of Nanking or the term comfort woman if you’re interested about reading more about it) that they never acknowledged or apologized for. Fans of the show who know about this are currently not trying to make the news blow up (I see them using very ambiguous words sometimes when discussing it in comments, at first I was confused what they were talking about too), because they’re scared it might put the drama in danger of being cancelled. So this is the last time you’ll see me writing something about it haha. You guys better not spread this news around too!

Have been a lurker, but can’t refrain myself from commenting anymore. In love with this drama!! Came for my girl Xin Xin, but He Di plays the male lead so well too! Saw some people on here commenting about their quarreling in their recent livestream (haven’t gotten the time to fully watch it yet) but I’m not seeing a lot of negative comments about it from C-netizens. Everyone’s saying stuff like friends don’t bicker like this, only lovers do 😂😂 Saw some clips on Douyin of him trying (but failing) to coax her at the end of the live and it was so cute haha (repeatedly saying “it’s all my fault” and “you were so cute when you were little, it explains why you’re even cuter now that you’re grown up!” but Esther was not having it lolol). Under the director’s comment someone wrote that he should report back when he’s done coaxing her and he replied he had finished doing so, they’re just too cute.
