Everyone knows how the main leads are going to end up together and kdramas always start out with that sort of introduction - however, I LOVE how this drama started out! Caught me off guard - and how they were able to integrate the plot and piece each of the flashbacks/storyline together.
I cannot be more impressed by EACH and EVERY single cast member chosen for THEIR roles!! Everyone did an AMAZING job; really played out their character to the CORE.
Loved every moment of emotion and feels this drama has put me through... literally cried or got teary every episode.
I loved all the meanings and unique epilogues at the end of each episode (DON'T MISS THEM!). These added great additional information, insight, and plot to the story/characters.
I think the ONLY thing was; as much as unrealistic kdramas are (SNIFF, UNFORTUNATELY T-T) - some violent portions - seemed really unreal but it did play into the plot well...
Some side items - absolutely amazing OSTS/soundtracks; visuals were OFF the charts (outfits, scenery, backgrounds, make up etc etc).
Overall, AMAZING. DEFINITELY worth the watch; no drama is perfect so I give it a 9.9999 out of 10 !
I think the storyline/plot was fun! It had a lot of potential and played well with romance and politics!
All the characters did a FANTASTIC job of portraying their respective characters - especially all the female leads!
As for the romance aspect - I really did love his obsession or like passion for the MFL but at some parts; he seemed too desperate / immature to me. BUT I still liked it LOL
Politics - made sense etc all the nitty gritty dirty tricks and such were there.
As for the 'power' the King had - interesting concept but felt like such a cheat code idk - definitely a unique addition for a traditional styled drama and could see how shamans and spirits idea came into play.
Overall, a pretty fun watch!! Some parts were slow but loved the cast, and the selection part was fun too! Worth to give it a watch!
Definitely contained some good plot points - but had way more potential to have had a better storyline. The ending was okay - it was good but could have been better of course; especially with the condition of how the enemies were handled (some portions were just too dark etc).
Love love the cast - Taecyeon & Hyeyoon are such both wonderful actors! Will definitely give such big credits to the villian - son; Lee Jae Kyoon did a fantastic job!!! All of the support characters were hilarious and wholesome as well~
LET ME PERHAPS try to clear up some confusion / misconceptions about this drama!
First and foremost, their childhood:
I think I understand a lot of people's perceptions on how weird their brother/sister relationship was HOWEVER - please note they were CHILDREN and you really have to see it from a different perspective.
I think the love that Joonsuh had for Eunsuh was way more innocent than people think (like they had an amazing sibling relationship, with a lot respect, care, and bondness (or jeong/jung) between each other - in Korean there is a term called "JUNG" or "JEONG"; in English it directly means affection but it's a little more in depth than that. I know some scenes were odd - like where he talks about how he likes someone blah blah; but I think he just meant to say that to tease her but at the same time genuinely did "love" her or have affection for her as sister. He just really was the overprotective brother. BUT to each their own - I did think their affection for each other was more so innocent / naive and really didn't start blooming into something unhealthy until right after they were separated.
When they got separated; it sort of built a trauma bond between them (?) They were torn apart and it was just such a heavy blow for both of them. I especially think for Eunsuh - it made her miss not just her brother but her whole family and sort of formed a trauma love around him. Same for him since he had to just adopt a new "sister" back into his life.
Overall, WOULD RECOMMEND!! Such a heart wrenching and loving story. I honestly love Eunsuh - she played such a TRUE main girl as the good hearted/poor character which was the THEME back then.
Give it a shot!! They don't make it like this anymore :')
didn't really end the way I wanted bc I liked the other main lead but still overall adorable! it's nice little slice of school life drama - nothing too intricate in terms of details to follow and not really that profound but still a good drama to have in the background
really just watched it for the cute cast and didn't really care for much of the actual content or details of it
overall, not bad to have watched this little light series~
Not particularly my choice of recommendation but perfect to leave something in the background while doing other things.
Really simple / easy to follow - cute/humorous!
Loved the acting from everyone - super adorable - especially the two ML's! Loved Ahn Hyo Seop's naive / foreign acting ~ While this was my first time seeing Cha Eun Woo act as an idol (even though he was one prior - never have seen him as I only have seen him as an actor/in dramas).
The main female lead was cute but I did think her stature/posture made the drama a little awkward for some scenes etc.
Not much really else to add? Just watch if you want to enjoy a cutesy light hearted drama in the background!
The 2nd lead played horribly with the 2FL the FL never showed any interest in him other than respecting him as…
Yeah it does suck for the 2nd FL but it is what it is :( I think there was some sort of interest initially from the FL - when the 2ML was showing care/interest in her; bc she started talking about it with her friend and her friend was like WHAT that guy totally into you blah blah - it made the FL 'PONDER'. But early on, she found out there was SOMETHING between the 2FL + 2ML so I'm sure she dropped it you know? but overall, doesn't matter bc I still think this drama was MEH LOL :''(
I am more of a kdrama person but I will watch a few movies here and there~
Honestly, this movie has SUCH a great storyline, profound meaning, yet includes shallow humor!! It did an AMAZING job of just being SO REAL (realistic in terms of life and just how relatable situations could be).
Acting was hilarious and absolutely portrayed their characters remarkably!
This was such a HUGE roller coaster of emotions of anger, sadness, happiness, butterflies, humor, and just again - ah yes this is life, this type of stuff actually happens.
Just being able to relate to how important timing is, how words/actions can really alter and be life changing, and things just don't always go as planned (in fact, almost never as planned).
Without spoiling, I think the ending was bittersweet.
AND FOR THOSE SAYING THE FL WAS SO SELFISH - nahhh BE SO FOR REAL. She had made the right choice of high self respect/value. (EVEN if I wanted a different ending and agree with many of you).
She had to do what she had to do, bc of her past too remember. In the end, they both bloomed from their tenure of a relationship and honestly, I could see why it ended the way it did...
But I did LOVE the ML... he did an AMAZING job of "I want my man too look at me the way he does" type LOL!!
Overall, would totally recommend this movie!! Great storyline, acting, and really found myself laughing a lot!!
It started off so alluring and thrilling! It really captivated me with the plot and how things were going to turn out!
However, with it being a bit of an older / longer drama (about 20 episodes), it started to draggg towards the front mid of the series.
I think the main antagonist really made it worthwhile to watch - great acting and just truly stuck to his character.
I actually loved the initial female lead - I think she had such a unique look and actually did a phenomenal job of portraying her character! The main male lead matched his character of his gentle demeanor ~
I think the middle got sort of boring... The way they fell in love almost felt like a pity party and I don't know... just was meh...
The ending was also anti-climatic? Overall, it had potential but just sort of got washed up...
Wouldn't necessarily recommend but if you're like me trying to watch whatever and any dramas - would watch once just to have something in the background.
Honestly, I feel like I enjoyed the sub-characters' stories so much more... -_-
I feel like there was not really much of a build up between the two main leads and I learned so much more about France than the leads' love story.......
I will say it had great POTENTIAL to be really interesting - I did enjoy how each "couple" showed different types of struggle of love and was interested in seeing their outcomes but for the main characters... it just felt super sped up and not much of romance storyline? I also understand they were on a trip and it happened so fast but... just wasn't really fun.
They also did a great job of making the audience "assume" things and really giving good plot twists (especially with Yoon Park and Park You Na's situations)!
I also love Jong Yong Hwa but he seemed so derpy in this drama LOL (I mean was still cute but yeah)
Overall - my goal is to watch through all the dramas and their episodes LOL but this is nothing something I would take the time to rewatch.
I LOVE Ji Chang Wook!! And I started watching it bc of him and the highish rating this drama received...
But, honestly - I really think the main lead and FML just DID NOT mesh AT ALL. Partially bc of her acting and partially bc I think the type of character she had to portray just didn't go well the character the main lead was!
Also, I did finish it through to give it a fair review - but I did skim through A LOT. Maybe bc it was an older drama but it was SUPER draggy and some parts were just simply *boring* and redundant.
The storyline itself was pretty interesting at first but it sort of fell off... It was going well and then suddenly it went off tangent for a few episodes (with some future-seeing dude) or idk... I think it was to tie in more in-depth feelings for the characters but... still feel like the story was weak.
I think it was OKAY watching it bc Ji Chang Wook was super handsome/adorable but def would not recommend wasting time for a re-watch.
If you want to finish through - you can keep it in the background - bc the story is pretty simple to follow through and don't need to pay attention to too much detail (it will all make sense in the end etc etc).
IDK How it got the ratings it got... ABSOULUTELY BORING.
Literally the chemistry was sooo MEH between the two main leads.
I also think the casting was absolutely so poor.
I get the type of characters they had to play too - the rough male lead and the kind hard working female but for some reason they just didn't really mesh well together...
The storyline could have been good but basically just felt like a trauma bond was formed and there wasn't really much pulling and pushing... it just sort of happened?
I think the concept could have been used better but overall it was so heavily revolved around the incident - which makes sense and understandable but I just couldn't really grasp and fall in love with it.
Love the 2nd lead and how the romance COULD have occurred but just sort of flat out died LOL...
I wouldn't really recommend but I mean at least I was able to watch it and have an opinion on it :(
AH! I actually LOVED the story and plot BUT the main leads were SO SO :(
I honestly enjoyed more of the second leads' love stories more than the mains LOL
Overall - story is fun! Love the traditional sa-guek setting and of course all the drama with the injustice and imbalance of power for government/monarchy etc etc.
Overall a fun and good watch - nothing crazy... love the value of friendship, loyalty, and honestly the courage each character imposed!
The antagonist was also a great plot twist at the beginning and a great great actor! He really sold the show.

A pretty light hearted and comedic drama!
Pretty much a pleasant Christmas mash up of different stories but was really cool to see how they all tied together to bring various themes!
One of the movies that sort of give you the end of the year gratefulness, giddiness, and just overall let's start over for the new year type vibes!
Don't think I would use my time to rewatch it but it was worth the enjoyment for the one time!
Definitely contained some good plot points - but had way more potential to have had a better storyline. The ending was okay - it was good but could have been better of course; especially with the condition of how the enemies were handled (some portions were just too dark etc).

This drama is actually so underrated - should def take a watch!!
Loved the dynamic of the main leads - absolutely outgoing of both characters and just a lot of fun!
The antagonists were great too - and had unique chemistry between all the family members.
Definitely had a dark side to this drama as well - but overall the concept of revenge, justice, and romance was great!
Definitely felt a little draggy since they had 21 episodes~ but was entertaining and humorous in each episode!
Overall a not bad watch - but wouldn't spend the time to rewatch!
