So sorry, I only saw this now as I have kind of moved on from this review and replying to comments.

But thank you for writing this and for voicing your opinion, as long as there are people who see the problem and agree with certain views I'll be able to sleep at night...more or less ;).

I’m not gonna reply to two separate comments of you so;

Firstly, google free speech and hate speech, learn the definition and then make as many comments as you’d like where what you say can be factually backed up.

Secondly, if you try to paint me a ceratin way, make sure you thoroughly look through my watchlist next time, and consider all ratings of all shows. (there’s plenty of bad AND good ones, bl or not). I rate based on liking stories, characters and uniqueness. lgbtq+ content doesn’t automatically mean it’s good/bad, neither does popularity or good looks.


Enjoy watching your dramas, get some happiness out of them. ignore people that dislike the things you love. takes too much effort, but let people have an opinion.

And if you can't handle critique and people disliking things you like, maybe grow a bit more maturity before going on forums where free speech is a thing. xx

It's alright, I guess the people writing these comments might just still be super young or they talk before they think. (frontal lobe is probably just not developed in most of them :D) My consent is important, so is everyone else's, and nobody can take that away from me anymore. I do really appreciate your comment and reassurance, so thank you. <3 .

And you make amazing points regarding shipping abuser and abused, as well as the portrayal of dynamics in this drama compared to other ones. There sadly are relationships like this irl and while I really am advocating to shed light on such dynamics, it really has to be done carefully, in a way that shows but portrays how wrong it is. Not a portrayal that glorifies abuse. But let's hope that we get that later on in the series...And if not, let's wish for future dramas to have a more all encompassing view on such relationships.

I think the one thing that really bothers me is the ASMR breathing, and the voice over at certain points...but I get what you mean ;D

I mean I wish for both the actors to celebrate a breakthrough through the popularity this drama had.

But I also hope that BLs like "the next prince" will age better purely because of the respect and dynamics. Revenged love is based on want and lust, not respect or care - at least in the first what felt like 8 episodes ("oh my god he held himself back while Da Bao was sleeping, what an angel" - give me a f*cking break bro, that's literally basic human decency, but I digress).

And I think, based on the silly little comments this post got of pressed people, a lot of the people watching this have no idea what those kind of relationships entail and I wish for them to have better representation for when they get to the point where they experience it themselves...but I probably got ahead of myself with this comment. :D

yeah I guess that's exactly it. people seeing someone objectively handsome/pretty and throwing any morals out the window. I mean, it is "just" a Series, but it kind of concerns me generally that everyone is so super hooked and glorifying the behavior. The series itself is not that deep, I just hope ppl have some sense of morals irl.

I wish for you to never experience what it feels like to have someone sh*t on your consent.
Be safe out there. And maybe ask in real life. (also, don't take unserious things like a review so personally, that's a little silly)
