Correct me if I'm wrong, but at least from my brief research on corneal transplants they're far less restrictive…
Some info from various searches:
"Most cornea transplants are successful and will work without complications for at least 10 years."
"In uncomplicated cases, first-time corneal transplant succeeds in 90% of patients, however, the long-term survival eventually falls to 74% at five years and further still to 62% by 10 years"
"According to a 2014 survey of visual impairment and blindness, 0.6% of Thai people are blind and 12.6% are visually-impaired. Over 92% of blindness cases could have been prevented and more than 76.8% could have been treated."
"The Thai Red Cross Eye Bank reports that patients in need of cornea transplants must usually wait
3 to 5 years, as only 2% of Thais are eye donors. Each year, over 1,000 people are added to the
corneal donation waiting list and these numbers are increasing. In contrast, only 600 to 700 people
receive a donated cornea each year, while presently there are about 17,000 people waiting for
corneal transplants. The long waiting period can greatly worsen the symptoms, prognosis and visual
outcome."
"About 53% of the world’s population lacks access to corneal transplantation. There is about only 1 cornea available for 70 needed."
I still want to know what Day's problem is with Night. Night secretly does nice things for him and cares about…
I think it was in the 'Before Last Twilight' video that Mark and Sea have a scene together outside a bar. Night looks particularly drunk and I think he drives them home and perhaps causes the accident that results in Day's vision loss. It makes sense that Night drives Day's car now, if his car was wrecked.
In the episode 7 preview, Mhok is wearing the same party outfit (green polo shirt) when he tells Phojai that he likes Day.
I wonder if this is a flashback of the morning of the party and Mhok was thinking about confessing to Day but Phojai talked him out of it? Or is it the morning after the kiss when he comes home?
Episode 6 had me all in my feelings 🥹. Why was August trying to force something that just isn’t their. We…
I think that Day was conflicted about whether Mhok was just being nice because he is his caregiver. He was probably wondering if he was just overthinking the moments between them, like is Mhok doing all these things for him because it's his job?
Also, with Day's blindness, he obviously has to use his other senses to judge Mhok's feelings - his words, his touches, his actions. He doesn't really know how Mhok looks at him and can't read his facial expressions or body language for that extra context, and that must make things all the more confusing for him.
I think August was mostly thinking about himself. I feel like it was soooo conceited of him to hear Day's confession and to think that his greatest birthday gift for Day was a kiss that didn't mean anything!
There are key questions that need answers if we are to understand what is happening. Why would Day confess to…
I don't think that Day having feelings for August means he doesn't have feelings for Mhok.
Day has spent a year in isolation. His entire life has been on pause. He's had a lot of time to wonder 'what could have been' between him and August. There was never any resolution between them and so I think his feelings have been in limbo for a year.
Mhok is the one who encouraged Day to reconnect with August. Day wanted to run away, so no, I don't think he was rushing to confess. I don't think he's 'in love' - I think he was pretty confused about his own feelings.
He's not picking August over Mhok. August offers to help Day with running so of course he's going to spend time with him. He hasn't seen him in a year! It's not like Day only wanted him as a boyfriend and not as a friend. They have history together. He just wanted August to genuinely spend time with him, and not out of pity.
And before August came back into the picture, Day was already conflicted about his feelings for Mhok.
He asked Mhok if he was single. He wanted Phojai to clear up if she was dating Mhok and he couldn't answer her question 'are you interested in Mhok?'
When he tried to see Mhok's face: he was thinking about how Mhok put his arm around him when they were taking photos. He thought about how Gee said Mhok was handsome. But why would it matter to Day if his 'caregiver' is handsome or not?
Day also met Aon after he lost his sight. But they are clearly very platonic. He doesn't want to figure out what Aon looks like, or if Aon is handsome, or what Aon is wearing. Clearly his feelings for Mhok are not as straightforward.
I think Mhok's actions towards Day make him question: is Mhok just doing his job? Does Mhok touch him and compliment him and support him just because it's his job?
None of Day's previous caregivers treated him like Mhok does. They pitied him and left him alone in his room and quit after three days. Even his own family just left him to wallow. He went through this for a year until Mhok came into his life. Mhok, who wants to show Day how capable he is, who praises him, who encourages him, who buys him slippers so he won't hurt himself again, who reads to him, who wants to sleep over to take care of a drunk Day, who wants Day to see his friends again, who wants Day to know that he is handsome, who touches and flirts and teases him, who treats him in an intimate way not comparable to a caregiver.
Day asks Mhok twice: 'if you're not going as my caregiver then what?' He wants Mhok to either acknowledge or deny what is happening between them. Are they professional, platonic, or something more?
But Mhok turns the question back to Day: 'what do you want me to be?' And if Day only had platonic feelings for Mhok, he could easily say that they're going as friends. But he doesn't. He is happy and excited thinking he's about to spend his birthday with Mhok. He calls him handsome and gives him his favourite cologne.
I think Day was confused about his feelings for both of them. August, his first crush, and Mhok, his caregiver who doesn't act like a caregiver.
Made an account just so I could rate it and leave a comment. Loved this show so much and I just feel like there is still soooo much I would like to know about the characters and their lives!! Not sure how likely another season would be but I don't feel ready to say goodbye to them. The cast together are so precious! 🥺💕
