@Shiro The book was very interesting and made me look at my own friendships from a new perspective, and I even found formulated in the book some things I thought about myself - I had to go to goodreads to remember the exact title and author, because I was reminded by some of its ideas, but it's been a while since I even thought about it:

Wow - this was A LOT :)) and even before reading I remembered a book I read at one point (it might be "Friendfluence" by Carlin Flora) and it touched upon a lot of the points you are raising here. Now, having read your article (and am so proud to have done this in one go and with an existing headache), I am veeeeeeeeery tempted to be like "you know, you could write a book with your articles" :))
I don't even know what and how much to say here, but at one point, although I appreciated the disclaimer with the nuts (and laughed my a** off at the joke), I couldn't help but feel a bit uncomfortable because some of these titles I haven't watched yet, and I know that you are discussing things generally and not particularly trying to spoil stuff, but I would like some option or idea about keeping them at bay? like... there was an article that had the specific dramas framed so that if I don't want to know anything about it I can just skip reading that exact frame... or something along those lines. But this is not necessarily spoiler-spoiler material, and when you describe a character as a summary based on the knowledge of having seen the drama, it kinda includes essential stuff from it that I might've wanted to discover on my own.

Anyway - this was a great read and I gotta admit, my heart grew a bit in size when I was mentioned :)) thank you for writing this article, I loved it 👏 and OF COURSE I added even more titles to the lists of things I plan to watch... obviously.

Aww.... I love to see how ppl respond to this - I was reading about the movie and I saw the director really documented this, not sure if he also filmed a documentary but for sure talked to a lot of ppl in the community, so I am assuming the result is very very real.
And I remember that scene, omg, as one whose parents are no longer "with us" as they say, stuff related to family and loss really get me.

@Maritza I mean...if we consider everything, she said that they will break up if he doesn't tell her brother about them, so she was leaving, he was already drunk and upset. Then he probably drank some more, took some pills and left to find her. So he wasn't in the best state of mind in the first place. Besides, when his mom came and performed years and years of mindf*ck on him with psychiatric treatments and pills, and telling him that he hit a deer trying to brainwash him, that makes him an even more unreliable witness.
So from the start the image he was trying to put back together was incredibly shattered. What I am saying is that during the multiple flashbacks he has, he starts to piece together the things from the beginning of the night, when he was... shall we say, the least effed up? It's like trying to solve a puzzle but you only have distorted, broken pieces and you might not even see them properly.
Yeah, the time for rewatch will come - I wanna savor it so it will be a while. Rn Strangers from Hell takes a huge toll on me...

The "looked like a deer before hitting her" ... from what I understood, his mind did some very creative puzzles to hide that night, he was both drunk and pilled up, and the image of her with lights in her face was actually from when she was leaving that place, the farm - not sure if he was following her with his car from that moment on, the thing is it was that piece of the puzzle that overlapped with the deer thing.
Not sure if I explained it right, maybe upon rewatch I'll be mindful to notice this aspect better.
