I need more drama like this one ! How come such a masterpiece is only rated 8.0 ?

A BL drama as artistic and beautiful as Utsukushii Kare where everything is mastered perfectly and where there are no fillers (ie irrelevant and useless scenes just to extend episodes or in order to aim a wider audience) ? No, there aren't any in my opinion. I tried some claimed "masterpiece" BL drama but was very disappointed and need to rewatch Utsukushii Kare to recover psychologically ^^'. Well, since I'm someone who usually dislike romance, I don't think my opinion will be helpful.
For the moment, Utsukushii Kare and Bad Buddy are the only romance dramas I deeply love for the couple and for romance parts, not for chaotic comedy parts haha. They are the only dramas I can feel butterflies in my stomach but Utsukushii Kare is beyond that... in my eyes XD.

The actor's face is too girly and doesn't fit Kindaichi's character. Maybe it's his lips ? I don't know but something is wrong, I hope his acting will compensate. Domoto Tsuyoshi and Yamada Ryosuke are my fav for Kindaichi's portrayal.

Seems like Kamen Rider’s actors often end up in BL drama/movies haha.

NEED SEASON 3!!

Utsukushii Kare is now my therapy : I rewatch it whenever I watch an awful, bad, disappointing BL drama (especially the overrated/overhyped ones ^^').

That’s what I love too. Actually before I started watching it, I somehow guessed Hira is seme (and he’s a cute one haha), that’s one of my main reasons to watch it.

I don’t know if I should continue to watch this, the plot is so-so and it’s very slow paced even though 1st episode was very intense. It’s not a matter of BL or bromance, actually I don’t care if it’s not BL, and the friendship between the 2 male leads is a bit forced, it looks like those male friendship from josei manga. And Rion is so bland... she’s just the strong nice sister/senpai. I wish there was more actions like 1st ep, thrills and twists, and focus more on other characters.

Unfortunately, not everyone understand art. Utsukushii Kare is the most "beautiful" BL I’ve ever known, even BL mangas/animes can’t give me that special feeling except maybe Fuyu no Semi but it’s different.

I love the workplace setting but... Too much couples... there are at least 5 couples in which 3 couples are annoying and unecessary...

Yes, Hira’s the seme (top) in the relationship.

Hitomi’s the most annoying character... the actress’s acting is pretty bad...

I hope they will be at least the best Japan BL couple but I think it won’t happen 😢 because Hira/Kiyoi is not like most fujoshi’s standard seme/uke.

Very underrated movie (like most of japanese productions on MDL) even though the action scenes are pretty well done, acting and plot are good too. I didn’t like MC in the manga but in this movie, he’s so cool, also Sato (Ayano Go), I love him ! And I’m glad the bestfriend is removed haha. I love how one of the most effective weapon is tranquilizer, it’s always been my weapon of choice in video games.
