Why people dislike KinnPorsche ? I think I know why, after trying to watch several popular BL dramas and basing on BL manga community’s and my female friends’ tastes.
Saying comedy has no place in such dark and serious drama is just an excuse. Their main issue is Porsche. Why ? Because he is not their standard and favorite weak uke (bottom): - he’s as tall as Kinn, the seme (top); - he’s muscular; - he has a manly face, no girly or cute baby face; - he behaves like a man ; - he’s quite vulgar; - he’s physically strong; - he’s flirtatious; - he’s not a cry-baby; - he has to protect the seme (it’s wrong because it’s seme’s duty to protect the gi... I mean the uke) - etc... Thus a lot of girls can’t self-insert in such manly bottom lol. They will deny it or don’t even have conscious about self-inserting themselves.
PS: please, don’t attack me, it’s just an observation.
This drama has potential. I enjoy 2nd and 3rd couple a lot (wish 3rd couple has more screentime). 1st couple is really boring most of the time. I enjoy their parts especially in ep 8 and 11 even though I found Fah really bland and I actually really like Torn, he has flaws and despite the height difference with Fah and being a cute boy, Torn doesn't act like most of the short "bottom" from other BLs (I'm not even sure if he's top or bottom or versatile or whatever). And unlike most people here, I wish it focus more on basketball.
