Realistic Romance Chinese Drama
I make this account just to tell people how I really appreciate this drama. This is a lengthy review and I'm not good at arranging words so excuse me if my words below seems like all over the place šāāļøSo first of all, I've only been into Chinese drama during the pandemic to look more drama beside Korean. I already knew Yang Yang and Dilireba during my journey discovering more Chinese drama but this is the first time I see both of their acting. In my opinion, both of their acting are okay. Both nailed their own character although I feel like they could do better and be more 'natural' because sometimes I find their acting could be quite stiff in some scene, especially Yang Yang (although my friend said that Yang Yang's acting is way better than his Love O2O character). But overall, I still like how they carry out Yu Tu and Qiao Jingjing's character that is still enjoyable for me, a first timer to their acting.
*intermezzo: Dilireba's visual is always as beautiful, but Yang Yang really caught me off guard. I mean before this drama, to me he looks ordinary, like he's indeed good looking but that's it (idk if this makes sense but yeah, lol). His visual didn't attract me like other Chinese actors. But after playing as Yu Tu, suddenly his visual rising up that I'm drooling over him now š¤£šš¤© like now I see him in new light lol*
Actually, I'm not into e-sport so I had the urge to skip almost all the gaming session because simply I can't understand it!. I got even more confused when they talk about the avatar skills, the technique, ranking and I don't even know the objective of the game itself š¤£š¤£ (But then again, I could go through Go Go Squid so I could get through this too lol). But I'm glad I didn't skip any of that because their chemistry during the first half helped me to get more of it in the second half.
One thing I love the most about this drama is actually the story itself. Even though this is a romance drama, it's not filled with unrealistic events so it doesn't feel like watching a drama at all. I've noticed that in rom-com Chinese drama, they tend to ditch real life job for the sake of romantic story. But this drama really highlight each character's job in which helping Yu Tu and Qiao Jingjing's relationship. I don't know how accurate the aerospace engineer is portrayed in this drama, but it seems legit and I'm enjoying it more than the gaming scene (yes, because I can't relate at all to the game). I don't think Asian drama ever cover this kind of job (cmiiw) but this helps me to have a better picture of the job itself.
They did Yu Tu's character justice because to me, him wanting to quit aerospace because of financial in the beginning is realistic. Because let's be honest, salary is one of the most important thing when deciding a job whether it's your passion or not. You could have career in the field you detest the most but can be compromised by the high salary you get or even the opposite like Yu Tu. Although at the end he's stick with his passion, I feel like many people could relate to his struggle.
And don't get me into their romance. I love that their mood is either dissing each other or flirting like there is no in between lol. I also could feel the chemistry all over the screen to the point I feel like I'm third-wheeling them every time they're flirting with each other š¤£š¤£ lol. Their relationship is so healthy and such a couple goal. No unnecessary break up in the middle of dating because of petty thing. Ngl I kinda worried when he was asked about his whereabouts, like I genuinely scared this might be papparazi undercover, but what a plot twist š¤£š¤£ I even more amazed by her manager reaction because usually in other drama, the celeb's team would do anything to bury and deny the dating news or even get the couple break. But she's so supportive even had prepare plan ABCD to support whatever Qiao Jingjing's decision haha. Both of them really respect and support each other's profession and that's what makes their relationship mature than any other romance drama I've watched. I really like every time both of them were away but still have the time to keep communicating either by chat or by phone to show that they really love and care for each other.
Overall, I'm happy this drama didn't disappoint and I'm genuinely enjoy it. The whole drama is just filled with happiness and fluff, something that we need sometimes with the not-so-friendly relaity. By the time I'm writing this, I've finished watching for the 2nd time and on going to the 3rd time because I simply can't move on šEven though there some parts I'm dissatisfied about, I won't bother to pinpoint it because the good things about it beat the minor things I'm not satisfied with.

Great drama adaptation from a webtoon
First thing first, I rarely watch a drama adapter from webtoon especially if I have read the webtoon. Iāve read and watched Business Proposal. While I love and reread the webtoon many times, I canāt say the same about the drama. This review might be lengthy and contains major spoiler so please bear with me šIāve watched this drama purely out of the boredom. The first time Iāve tried to watch this, I just left within the first 5 minutes. But then, at one night i just need something to read/watch before bed so I decided to continue this drama. The initial plan of watching 1 episode ended up to watch 3 episodes as Iām HOOKED!! Now, I didnāt watch the Korean version as it didnāt interest me enough (business proposal trauma š«£) so I canāt compare. But what I like the most is they keep the essentials from the webtoon while also adding a twist that feels original and coherent with the overall story.
I know that Jdorama have shorter episodes compare to Kdrama, so they really focusing the story on the 4 main leads (more on Misa and Wataru, less on Reina and Tomoya). So I felt I a bit bummed they didnāt really explore on Ms. Sumiyoshiās story (the cheating, illness, and the child kidnappintg attempt) nor Miku and Yutoās relationship as they did in the webtoon, but itās understandable. Itās a nice touch to mention the Covid outbreak as it happens within the last 10 years.
Now, Reinaās character in the webtoon tends to be more annoying and childish while her character in this drama is just straight up devil and messed up. When we were showed little Reinaās circumstances, we might feel sympathy with her. But as story goes towards the end, she just wiped out all of the sympathy viewers had on her as she kept being unapologetically evil. I really enjoy Shiraisiās acting as Reina because she can make you wish all the worst to her character. Tomoyaās character both in webtoon and Jdorama are equally annoying and trash. But her momās character is quite funny actually in the dorama.
Koshiba and Takeruās chemistry is just *chef kiss* very great acting from both of them are delivered. I love the mature relationship they have in second life (though the act where Wataru saying harsh things to Misa to ākeep her safeā is too Kdrama-ish lol). I also love that they did everything that Wataru have wished for by the end of episode. Too bad we didnāt get their wedding as a finale. I personally think they should make a 1.5 hour for the last episode because I really need more of their interactions š
Several things that are different between the webtoon and the dorama:
1. The pet changes from cat to turtle (I read that turtle has its own symbolic in Japan)
2. Wataru is not Misaās direct supervisor while he is in the webtoon
3. The way the Misa and Wataruās death in first timeline as well as Reina and Tomoyaās death in second timeline is different compare to webtoon (although I kinda forget whether Jihyuk dead or not in the webtoon)
4. Misaās grandmother is an addition for the sake of plot. They donāt have this character in the webtoon
I think this is very nice drama adaptation out of webtoon. Korea production studio and writers should take notes from this writer to deliver the essence of the webtoon while making it quite original and not to add too much unnecessary filler (š· š· Business Proposal š· š·). If you have read the novel, I think you would not be disappointed by this version.
