YWH and YXZ are siblings... the fox Ji Ling only have enough power to save 1 person, and that was YWH so YXZ died... I don't know how it happened since its not fully explained yet but Ji Ling the fox evolved? In his human form with YXZ's face. Maybe because of guilt and that Ji Ling has the same face as his brother, YWH stayed at Shilin sect to protect Ji Ling
