I think you are right, they'd cut because of the fake pregnancy that, by the way, was forgotten in next episodes. The plot would be there loose so they cut and made the stabbing thing completely random. I think something like this happened on ep 22, there is a scene where they arrive at palace and the emperor notice that the queen mouth has some kind of allergy. This didn't made any sense, I think some scene that explained this was cut
