To anyone who has read the novel, is the Charan being adopted by the king thing actually relevant to the story? Cause so far it has been mentioned but hasn't really been a focus. I mean I can see it become an issue (cause on paper Charan is technically Khanins uncle, no? (Idk if I really understood the adoption thing properly)). And I suppose there is some important event/background to that, otherwise it's kinda pointless to add it
So is started watching this 3/4 years ago and watched the first 50ep. I wanna finish the drama so I can mark it as completed, but can someone sum me up what happens because I don't really remember anything about the plot nor charechters (Chinese dramas tend to be a blur for me after I finish them)
I honestly can't believe they didn't break up in ep14/15. It's's like breaking a generational curse or smth like that, because I can't even remember the last time I watched a kdrama and the leads didn't break up in one of the last few episodes
I watched ep1 and saw smth like a relationship graph of the charechters. And apparently the grand prince becomes king and marries another woman? And like I thought that it will be a romance between him and cross dressing girly, so can anyone sum up what happens (and mostly if it involves cheating because if yes, I wouldn't even bother watching further)
Unpopular opinion but (Up to ep 9, dk what will happen after) Vegas = Kinn at the morality compass. I honestly don't like either if them, but i feel like people overlook the shit kinn did and only hate vegas. For starters vegas drugging porsche was obviously disgusting and so him trying to kiss porshe when he was drunk. But kinn is the one who had sex with Porsche while he was still with that drug and also kissed him while he was drunk.
I overall like the drama and think its pretty fun. There are definitely flaws such as haris and youngseos toxic friendship that ive seen a lot of people bring up. But i have a bigger problem. It being the "beginning" of sunghoos and yeongseos relationship. I feel like its turned a blind eye on if the in fact did sleep together (pretty sure did), it would mean that sunghoo sexualy assaulted her since she was intoxicated .
Now a lot of people are saying the dropped the show, and i am one of those people. But i wouldn't say that's because its and arranged marriage and that makes it somewhat toxic.. I think you can have a really interesting story with it and in this case good character development. The story isn't something we haven't seen before, but it's not bad and the acting is also nice. The biggest issue and where the actual toxicity of the show comes from is simply from non other than the non con kiss in ep 2.
And to the people saying about kinnPorsche and how people will drop it because they will also be toxic, there is a difference between a somewhat toxic couple that has good chances of development, and its a completely other thing if the couple is rather toxic because of non- con acts.
I can't understand how people can find the kiss at episode 6 cute or along those lines. Sangwoo kissed jaechan, with no consent while he was asleep. I feel like people really ignore such things and forget to realise that this is sh
