i knew the ratings for this drama on MDL would drop.... Not a massive budget drama.... not a massive cast, the leads only 2 with the profiles.... basic drama....
however doesn't matter.... i still think if an outsider in c-drama business watches this, they would surely be impressed with Zhang Rounan & LYX performance....
Zhang Rounan seriously is knocking on the Top 10 actress list, she is that good.... Luo Yunxi, this for me is his best drama, i dont care about ratings, more so the connection....
watching first episode, seems abit boring the storyline, however only first episode.... One thing i have learnt watching c-dramas some dramas do have a slow build, others because of 40 episodes pacing might be slow for big patches.....
those who have watched 6 episodes, how are you finding the storyline and pacing?.....
I really don't understand why Xu Kai just can't get good ratings anymore. Also on douban.....
I think he has really re-invented himself in the roles he is playing.... The female leads he is with surely excite the fans like Gulnezer & Jian Tian .... The stories in the drama have excitement to them.... The casts in last 2 dramas including this one are fun to watch.... I personally think his management is doing their jobs as best as they can but something is not right....
Right now this is like the only Costume Wuxia drama, rest are pretty much all urban dramas....
I myself was not a big Xu Kai fan but that's because his past dramas had slumped & his performances were questionable but praise him now for making the adjustments to entertain his fans with better drama selection s.... Anyone have opinion to why this is happening?....

I am trying to really put my finger on it and here it goes....
Just looking at his last 5 dramas including this one I think 3 have been extremely poor.... She & Her Perfect Husband was bad.... Drama with Elaine Zhong I dropped early.... Royal Feast no good....
I think the roots of the problem go back to Falling into Your Smile. It might have been popular but came at a big cost with a nasty fan war between Bai Lu supporters & Cheng Xiao supporters. I kinda saw Xu Kai as an arrogant figure & saw Bai Lu fans as aggressive. Since then everything Xu Kai has been in has come with extreme criticism & fans he thought he had in the past especially with Bai Lu had kind of turned on him....
Bai Lu fans like to see actors as her property eg Luo Yunxi, Xu Kai.... They don't like to tolerate these guys with other female leads especially Cheng Xiao so they will just critique everything....
I watched few episodes as trying to get into the mentality of c-drama viewers as was gutted that Snow Lord Eagle got a a bad review. Felt Xu Kai & Gulnezer together delivered a fine drama....
Impression I got is this drama will also receive a bad review. I prefer Snow Lord Eagle over this drama but I think this drama is ok....
Xu Kai just doesn't have the love anymore it seems, Jian Tian is a fine actress.... I will continue to watch, I don't think they are doing bad....

Really not feeling it from Zhai Zi Lu.... I think he is trying, he is professional, he is a good actor but not looking for someone to tick off a checklist, need to actually feel it!....
I don't think the female lead is the problem, Ko Chia Yen is actually quite good, entertaining....
Might give it 2 more episodes and make decision....
I like this drama.... Already feeling it with the leads.... Bai Lu tempo alittle too much for Luo Yunxi but Zhang Rounan seems just right tempo for LYX....
The plot seems pretty silly & leads not filling me with energy, EZ is abit annoying at times for me.... Does anyone feel similar or just me?.... I'm not dropping this just yet, I always give a drama maybe second or some cases third chance before make the decision .... If people have watched more than say 6 episodes and say hang on it's a slow build then say so.....
Just be careful on this I say.... Chen Feiyu & Daddi Tang been involved in scandals recently, both similar scandals.... Female lead not a massive name either.....
Daddi Tang has had drama out but he was minor support, guess can't keep Johnny Huang & Zhang Jing Yi hanging just on one cast member with minor role....
If it's official glad moved on, if not just be careful.... It does have a douban page so 50/50....

Ok last week it was Yang Chaoyue & Zhou Yi Ran, then before that think Esther & Leo Wu, before that Zhao Lusi with some other guy so I asked the question of reliability.... If you are confident that's the case then I will share my confidence in you....

Maybe everything is fine but having few actors involved in similar scandals who have been on a bit of a hiatus raised questions.....
