i am here to rant so here's my thoughts on the last episode:
essentially in ep. 9 i was like...... you have to be kidding. its the end of the second to last episode and this is happening now?? and sun has only be seen like 4 times ??? i will have to say that it made me put off the last episode for a couple of days. i think that this must have meant to be a 12 episode long show and the last 3 episodes just got merged together because honestly they just threw every plot device i can possibly think of in there, so lets give them a little list:
1) the whole "i can fix my parents divorce, i can tell they should be together!" just i feel i should have been resloved with a lot more push back, or not have been a thing that theo even thought he could fix? it was such a self centered move that i really hoped that akk would call him out or there would be some kind of character development where he like looks back at his parents interactions over the course of him being there and realise. the love has faded
2) akk's sister just agreeing when he said that he didn't deserve theo (could possibly be a mistrans) idk i felt like up until that point she was, in a slightly strange way, trying to look out for him and maybe that was the easiest way to stop him ??? or she just had a lot of misconceptions ? i think they could had left it in, only if akk's character grew to overcome his lack of confidence, again i think most of the issues here are due to the rush, they really needed more character development before the conclusion that happened
3) why is theo never going to come back, if his dad lives there ? they made a very important point of both his parents love him so much, but apparently he doesn't care so much about both of them??
so yeah this is a long rant but i dont think it warranted a review lmao
i really loved how tao and bao ended up together at the end ! i feel like it was sort of coming from the beginning but i only wish he had appeared slightly earlier on and we saw more of their relationship when they were in uni and after. at ep 36 i was somewhat conceredsince the leads hadn't got together yet and i'm a sucker for long, drawn out soppy relationship type stuff, i enjoyed the ending but the chemistry between them would have worked so well for that kinda thing. as shown earlier in the trip they went on before xiaoju changed her major !
