if you are dropping by to see if this is worth watching.... the 8.7 review does not do it justice. The story telling and character development alone is a 10 but factor in set design, color moods, and acting- its off the charts good. saying it again. This takes c-drama to a new level and is a tough act to follow. I tried to watch immortal samsara yesterday and it didn't carry the same momentum and story development. Not saying I won't watch, just had to place on back burner
I always feel dissappointed when they pit girls against eachother because of men. Girls in this time period, although…
i think it’s just more bratty in nature, vs the males who conspire secretly or get crass and sarcastic. I do see that they intend to show rival tendencies this way. it would be super refreshing to see a true double face FL plotting demises for counter characters the whole series lol
Very great and important dialogue in EP 21 & 22. I'm really appreciating the nature of the love that LY and CSS have, although never romantic it was deep and kindred. They will find strength in one another's parting words. When LY finally stands up for himself in front of his family - that was a tremendous victory.
There are ways to end an engagement but boy did the writer pick a messy one for this story. Right now, He Zhaojun…
Major growth and depth in both characters, from their personal hardships. HZ personally witnessed murders, which traumatized and numbed her from the brutality of taking life. In different to CSS who chose to witness retribution but only realized that revenge itself is not as satisfying/healing.
I think we forget that there are strong tropes in China that do well and are favorites among drama-land, and they will continue to live in future dramas. You can typically seed that out in the first 6/7 episodes. However what I do appreciate in this show is the development in the characters on who and how they become who they are.
Usually the first 2 episodes sets the directions where the story is going....... I had watched 4 episodes, But,…
Oh those grownups were so annoying. they did play pesky adults so well! I did have to work through the over acting tropes in some characters, and overall it didn't ruin the drama for me. I hope you give it another try. I can echo your sentiments for snow stride and joy of life for your reviews.
