Nicely put. confession was imagination right? I hoped it was real and laughing ear to ear and then felt robed
Yeah, all the fluff after she came back from the market for the first time was a dream sequence (she fell sleep on heer way back). I felt like such a clown hahahah
In drama it’s mainly based in loss of taste what’s in the book ? And why he need FL in the book? Is it for…
Warning: spoiler heavy for the book!!!
In the book he is a prodigy that gets recognition pretty early in life, at 18, but soon is diagnosed with a brain tumor that ultimately causes him to lose his vision. He has an extraordinary palate and, even though he is blind, is an extremely good chef. While in a trip to China to do some research on food there for a project in NY (where he is based, even though he is chinese also in the book - just geographical reference for ya) his assistant arranges for him to go to a renowed hotel restaurant and to meet with the hotel's chairman that is interested in a partnership. It so happens that Kesong, who also has an extremely sensitive palate, is dining in the same restaurant and notices something wrong with the soup that JQF also picks up on. He overhears her telling a friend at the door why she didn't eat the soup and decides to recrute her to show him around and present to him some of the best street food in the city. They go around, FL is completely over his whole frigid and "picky" persona by the end of it, but they do exchange a cute moment just before she takes him back to his hotel where she eats candied hawthorn and talks about how eating it feels like having a crush, something he apparently never experienced in life, and she does so using the highest setting of sassiness she apparently has, because she is just done with him haha. I guess he just falls for her, unknowingly, and carries the idea of the candied hawthorn with him back to NY. For plot reasons, FL ends uo in NY. For SML reasons, she ends up participating, as a joke, of the selection for a culinary competition. And because all the cosmic elements end up aligning, because the ML has her in the back of his mind (he even picks up her voice in the croud at china town while passing by in a car, insane), and because his Alfred-type helper is the best, they end up as mentor-mentee in said competition. And then the story unfolds =D
If someone that understands chinese or is alittle more insightful could please weight in on this, in the preview for the next episodes it appears that Junbin makes a call for LKS and JQF at the same time? in a real Regina George from Mean Girls way? Please tell me I'm crazy hahaha
I realy like the drama. I read the book last week, just so I could compare and appreciate each as their own thing (if you like reading romance books, totaly recommend).
