What does a love saga of two high school boys look like under the BL lens? A whirlwind of emotions or a flat soda…
And oh, the ‘fight and then fall for each other’ cliché. Kanghan’s image as a bully clung to him like gum to a shoe, making his affection for Sailom as confusing as a maze with no exit. And the attempts to showcase the sweet nectar of love between them felt more like a bitter pill, highlighting the glaring absence of chemistry. Their banter, aimed to be sweet, felt more like a taste of sour grapes.// You worded these eps so perfectly 😂
The escape on a heavy bike felt like a scene borrowed from a low-budget action flick. The dramatic run-ins with gangsters seemed to be the director’s way of adding spice, but it ended up being a recipe for disbelief. And when Kanghan and Sailom were carrying bags of clothes on their escape route, it felt like the drama was carrying the baggage of implausibility.// Again, the who running away from home was done so poorly, throw in the casino and fighting fangsters. It felt like I was watching two children play tag.
I don't understand hype of 2nd couple at all. Nawa liked guy i could feel it also his whole flashback story shows…
Lol. I agree with you. While Guy and Nawa were always fighting, I couldn't tell if Guy liked Nawa or not. As for their kiss, Guy barely moved his mouth. So akward. Lol. Honestly, the whole kiss scenes in this series were uncomfortable to watch, like they were forced to do it at gun point. I mostly look away if I can't bare looking at it
I really liked the series because of Perth and Chimon's chemistry and pacing, despite the gaps in the writing.…
Chimon is pretty. Problem is, he literally looks like he is being tortured while kissing Perth. It looks like he would rather not kiss him. Honestly, I would have preferred that they didn't kiss at all. At some point, I just had to look away because him looking so uncomfortable, in turn made me feel uncomfortable watching them. Secondly, there is no romantic vibes from Chimon. More like bromance.. I have watch loads of high school dramas be it BLs and straight romances, where there are barely any kiss scenes and I can tell you that having little to no kiss scenes did not stop me from having butterflies in my tummy, neither did it dim their chemistry. But in this case, there was just something wrong with them. Perth was struggling to carry the romance, Chimon was radiating brotherly affection.
But here is the primary reason I did not like this series. Firstly, I feel duped because the trailer and title turned out to be different from the series. Ep 1 and 2 were amazing, but then ep 3 and 4 turned out to to be completely different. The mood, the vibes and the massive disconnect. The bullying completely forgotten, Kang did a 360 overnight and it seemed like a different show. Just when I tried accepting the new reality, ep 5 once again threw me into an unnecessary love triangle plot. I could go on and on. Finally they included some last minute danger.
Contrary to what most people think, people did not dislike this series due to lack of NC scenes. Heck, shows like MSP were successful despite no kiss scenes because the actors despite being so young sold their chemistry convincingly. Shows like "Check-out, Unforgotten night, Be mine Superstar " were all a flop despite the NC scenes.
I feel bad for Perth and I hope they give him a different partner next year. As for Chimon, he is a terrific actor and I think romance roles might not be his forte. Perhaps, he should explore villain roles and other non -romance roles. He was terrific in The Gifted and that was the first time I saw him in a drama.
Muffin is a psycho. Who walks around with green cotton candy? It should be pink cotton candy.
This is a BL and it's all about the fantasies for straight girls and we'll have to endure the stereotypical lesbian/bisexual female characters// Not again🤦♀️. And the accusations against straight girls are endless.
Kenji kinda reminds me of japanese style villains which are sometimes cartoonish and with overexaggerated personalities...…
Problem is, he's a hottie. Being that hot and wearing a bad wig is a crime. Now having the perfect hairstyle + being hot + being a villain, is the secret to getting more popular then the ML.
Dear BL Gods, please don't let them ruin the rest of the story.🙏
