On Shine (Orchestric Ver.) Jun 17, 2025
From the trailer, the show clearly has artistic ambition. But telling a politically heavy and nuanced story in just eight episodes feels unrealistic. We’ve seen this before in Not Me—a show with political intentions that fell flat due to lack of depth. We don't want to witness that same shortcoming again. Yes, the BL element and world-renowned cast will draw attention, but if that’s all they’re there for, it would be a disservice to the audience. If you’re aiming to tell a bold, meaningful story, then do it seriously—and commit to it. Don’t water down the political themes. Leaning on +18 scenes to grab attention is easy, but viewers aren’t here just for shock—they’re here for substance. Don’t just attract your audience; respect them enough to deliver something with real depth.
