I don't Understand the Hype behind this Drama, It's a Good but nowhere near a Masterpiece
If just watching now in 2025/2026. You'll feel like does it really worth it? But if you watched it in 2019/2020. It's a masterpiece. Apart from that, 60% of those who watched it, read the novel, then rewatch it again to imagine the subtle bromance turn BL in the drama.
Imagine this scenario, watch a drama, it was a bromance, then read the based on novel, it was a BL, then rewatch the drama again, you'll feel the chemistry of both actors. Then imagine if twas a BL drama😂. Then clips and content of how the two actors behave behind the scene went viral. The extrovert XZ and Introvert WY. Then! Fans couldn't get enough, a fanfiction was written of the two actors, as if based in real life. (Although the fanfiction was too **** that it got taken down by the government of China). The story escalated. The fans supporting the two split and it became fans war. It didn't stop there, this issue brought more viewers for the already ended tv drama.
The problem of explicit contents caused the controversy to be called '227 incident', strict censorship was enforced to an extent it affect both actors career, all entertainment platforms, events and industry were given order not to allow the two to be at the same place at the same time. brands dropped and repicked them, happened over and over again. When you think, it has died down, if the two seen again together the same problem happens again. There are now too factions. Bonafide fans of XZ, Bonafide fans of WY, Bonafide fans of the two actors together. Both! none of the factions agree on one thing.

But I gave him benefit of doubt, that not much one on one time in Inferno and Paradise will set the mood, but, oh boy... He butchered the mood😅
Now, SungMin is like first love and moonlight in Single's Inferno to GoEun. I kinda liked him but still not sure about him, because then I was wishing Hyeonwoo will talk to GoEun. Sooo, they would've been the sure done deal, then catfish came in😂😂😂
I-geon, he stirs the mood, the atmosphere, he carries the conversation, he makes you laugh, he makes you tense, he makes you silly, he makes you waver😂😂 this is not an expert but what I felt through the screen. He's an actor, but those tensions are not acting. But with all this, what still make GoEun not sure. I think - One, his age comes with more experience, he can flirt, make you blush, do tikitaka with you. Two, they somehow know each other through mutuals, was there things she has heard about him and that makes her hesitate? Three, he seems problematic to me😓💔😂😂, like he can bring you up to cloud nine and later slam you down, draining😅? Someone said he borderline green flag and red flag.
