it wasn't unnecessary, it spoke to his state of mind and being. that being said, sex portrayed in korean drama…
I think that's what people mean when they say it's unnecessary. that it felt forced and unnatural. Given the proper context of when they inserted the scene I think it was in a very awkward spot to place.

Man, the lack of consistency of this drama, especially with Minwoo's character, is so unnerving.
First we're told that he dislikes Young-woo for her apparent "connections." Then, we're told that he was actually envious of her genius all along!
Okay so, how the hell does that pardon him from spreading office rumors, sending courtroom files falsely in her name which can potentially get her fired and blacklisted in the industry, and pretending like Youngwoo was getting special treatment for her autism when she was clearly more capable than everyone in the room?! And then, get this, the real kick out of it is that rather than calling out his toxic crab mentality, the writer justifies and acknowledges his messed up beliefs by saying instead of acting "smart" he should just be an idiot or a "babo." In other words: It is understandable for Minwoo to act this way since Youngwoo is better than him in every fashion; he needs to use underhanded schemes or dishonorable methods to stay within the herd. This is the most logical path for success, but sometimes he should just be an idiot and do the right thing...

Like what??? Joining a law firm isn't the same as joining one-on-one competitions, that's why you are part of a team for a reason... Such things like win-win situations arise in real life. What is this nonsense? Are interns in Korea engaging in Squid Games or something? Did the writer never have a job in her life? It's not as if the law firm said it would hire only 1 out of the 3 interns or something. Why does he need to step on his coworkers to get ahead? Furthermore, if he's already in a top law firm, why the hell does he need to get into Taesan? His family situation, money situation, or his apparent "political ambitions" are never portrayed properly so I really have no idea what Taesan would provide more than Hanbada. And finally, until episode 16, we never see Minwoo respecting or acknowledging Youngwoo in any way, so why was he redeemed in episode 14? Did I miss something important?

JH getting angry at YW was an emotion long overdue. In that moment, it did seem that YW viewed him as a joke.…
I agree with what your analysis of the scene, but I disagree that they "really needed that breakup" in the way that it happened.

Prior to Episode 13, Attorney Woo has been vocal and overtly transparent about her problems; this, although, may have caused uncomfortable situations, also remedied a lot of the misunderstandings and problems. In other words, even with autism, Woo was ironically able to communicate her feelings and thoughts better than anyone else on the show. Furthermore, Jun Ho was able to interpret and understand her in most situations, and was patient enough to try to comprehend what Woo was saying when he couldn't. Yet, just to have this "conflict," the writer seemingly has forgotten the values and traits that she has given her characters from her previous episodes and turned them into angsty teenagers unable to communicate properly, just to convey the banality that an unwillingness/inability to communicate destroys relationships (via Attorney Jung's marriage). Not to mention Kwon Min Woo's antagonistic role just went down the drain for no apparent reason except to give the side characters some romantic closure with another banal justification as a cherry on top (yeah, Min Woo is not a bad guy; he just comes from a poor family so it's completely justifiable for or understandable of him to try and sabotage his coworker or have prejudicial beliefs... *eye roll*). All in all, ep 13-14 was a complete disaster in terms of the drama's consistency.

The later episodes are becoming inferior and lazy in quality. I felt it is becoming more of a circlejerk for the writer's own biased views. I sincerely hope at least the last two episodes won't make the same mistakes.
