I'm glad they made changes to her character especially too because I was wondering how they were going to fit in all those plots but it tied in nicely in the end.

Yeah that's a show only thing. In the novel she just does everything she does because she's obsessed with power. That's why I like show HY because her actions aren't selfish. She's somewhat respectable.

In the novel she reincarnated. She was married to him in her previous life which is how she's able to predict a lot of things in the novel. Yeah, I'm not describing the concoction she made correctly but that's essentially what it was. Also, she's not tbh. Because you find out later through investigations that YX does when he gets back that the emperor most likely had some ideas about what was going on. So he's the most evil still. He enabled HY. She's so much better in the show. I actually like her somewhat.

It's a very long story but in the end, HY ended up feeding him some tainted blood poison soup thing and she'd been giving it to him for a while. So he died and at the time, YX wasn't around. His death was satisfying because he got knocked down a bunch of pegs and HY gave birth to a "faceless" stillborn baby which felt like, to him, that the heavens were punishing him for "eating other people's children" since the blood came from the heart of young children she bought and imprisoned in the palace.
That's why his death was better in the novel because in the end, he realized how stupid and alone he was. He didn't see through HY's tricks, he got played by her, and HZ/empress dowager is what saw through HY.
I am sorry but only HZ and HZ is to blame for that. She took it upon herself to poke Hao Yue in the eye. Two times.…
No the only person to blame for that is the emperor. That man is acting like a scorned lover. He is the reason all these misfortunes are happening not only to the Hua family but his people also. He's not a good person and is very selfish.
Lmao, I paid for express to watch the episodes as soon as I found out it dropped. There are so many things that were different from the book but honestly I liked the changes. I didn't like how the emperor...you know. It was much more satisfying in the book.
I loveddd the changes to HY. She's actually likable in the show and not an evil crust. I appreciate that a lot. As for HZ's speech with the emperor, it was good but honestly I liked it better in the novel. As, YX rebelling against the emperor because of HZ was better in the book tbh. I feel like it was more impactful.
Anywho, overall I am happy with how everything turned out.
Also, apparently cnets bullying works. So happy for that 😂😂😂😂 cause they would not take their foots off of Youku's neck for the ridiculous 1 ep a day thing they were trying to force onto us.
If you like a female centric story, a Mary sue FL and a bland main romance, you'll love it.
She's not a MS. Tbh, I sometimes feel like cdrama fans are hard to please. When a female character shows emotion the fans will have issues with her not being rational enough or being selfish. When she's more rational and thinks things through, now all of a sudden she's too perfect. There are moments in the story that have been somewhat flawed I will admit, but HZ isn't a MS. And there have been several instance in the show where we have seen that she does not always effortlessly solve problems, but rather YX is looking out for her.
So based on today's trailers and the clips from the trailers for the show, it seems our girl HZ goes under cover and discovers HY. Then based on that and investigations that her and GYX are conducting, HY probably gets wind of it and sends someone to kill HZ which is where that clip where someone tries to attack HZ and GYX kicks them comes from. It also explains why she seemed so distant from him in the clip I saw cause at this point, they are still broken up. Then shortly after this, via manipulation and schemes of HY, the whole drum and fire thing happens at the palace, HY catches the emperors attention and become his concubine, and then the real games/angst begins.
