Tbh, in the book I got the sense that XX's dad loved him but had pride issues/obsession with being the rightful ruler since he only didn't get to be king due to his legs. But in this show, it feels like his dad doesn't...care for him as much. An interesting change.

So far, this is the only critique I've seen that I agree with. Everything else just seemed like people finding something to complain about. Dudu is a great crier, but they need to tone it down a bit.

Tbh, I don't remember this happening in the book. There's been a lot of stuff that's occurred that wasn't in the novel. In the novel, she approached XYF first and made it seem like she was going along with everything he wanted/in his control. It wasn't until way later in the book that they had a confrontation, and this was because she wanted to stop being empress and leave the now fully grown baby king with a well-functioning kingdom, not under the threat of XYF.
