I really don't think the consort is in on what her brother is doing. Because if she were, why would she urge her husband to look into what happened/plea for PY? That doesn't make sense. I feel like he did all these things on his own without her knowing. Not everyone agrees with everything their siblings do. I feel the same. I really enjoyed watching this.

His father is literally of a way higher status and position than he is, and his mother was a servant. It's not weird that he was put under temporary house arrest... this isn't odd. In almost every cdrama I've seen, parents hold a lot of weight when it comes to their children. Even characters like Gu Tingye and Song Mo were put under house arrest, and they were from military backgrounds with many achievements. Also, from the previews on c-sns, he does fight back against his dad.

Ngl, I always have to laugh when I see comments talking about 'western influence' and 'simping' regarding cdramas and female leads. Those comments are clearly from new cdrama watchers because this has been a thing for a long time and does not have to do with so called 'western influence'. I also feel like, because some of you are used to kdramas changing things to cater to western audiences, you think that cdramas are doing the same thing. They are not and never will because their domestic audience sustains them well enough. Also, before someone tries to attack me for this fact, this comment has nothing to do with Neo's lack of screentime. I'm not shading him or his character, and yes, I do agree that he got the short end of the stick regarding YZ, which is... unsurprising given that...it's YZ. He has a track record for this type of thing with whoever is billed first in his dramas. That being said, my main point is that RSB's characterization and the presence of female empowerment in a lot of cdramas had nothing to do with 'western influence' or 'simping', and some of you need to let your obsession with that go. There are lots of other shows/dramas that focus on male empowerment and strong men, so acting like female empowerment/strong female leads is some sort of Western obsession is absurd.
