I never said in my original post that I thought the scene fit. In fact, I wrote that I didn't think it was necessary. But from some of the comments I've seen across social media, not just here, it seems to me that people aren't just upset about the scene. Hence why I wrote the stuff I wrote about them not ending up together.

I think some of you need to accept that the sml and the fl are not going to end up together. Even if they didn't add the recent scene they added, he would still not end up with her. That is just what happens when you are a second male lead. And of course, the script writers are going to do certain things that make the male lead's character seem more likeable than the sml, this literally happens in every single show I've seen where a love triangle is occurring. This isn't something that's brand new. That being said, do I think the scene they added was necessary? No. But acting like the show is now suddenly terrible just because of that one scene is a bit much.

I see your point now. That being said, the 'step mom' is just a concubine, and a lot of their family money comes from the female lead's mother. So while she's alive, I don't really expect the fl to give the concubine much respect. Two, minglan isn't a yeller period. But in the show, she definitely said harsh things to her father after he repeatedly failed, similarly to how the fl's father has failed her. Third, this is an idol drama, and from my understanding, the story of minglan was not. Feel free to correct me on that point if that's incorrect. I think it's also hard because they are trying to keep certain elements of the original story while getting rid of the rebirth piece, and oftentimes that doesn't work out well.
